It is the responsibility of the owner to make sure all personnel read this manual prior to using these jacks. It is also the responsibility of the jack owner to keep this manual intact and in a convenient location for all to see and read. If the manual or product labels are lost or not legible, contact K-Tool International for replacements. If the operator is not fluent in English, the product and safety instructions shall be read to and discussed with the operator in the operator's native language by the purchaser/owner or his designee, making sure that the operator comprehends its contents.

THE NATURE OF HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS

The use of bottle jacks is subject to certain hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means, but only by the exercise of intelligence, care, and common sense. It is essential to have personnel involved in the use and operation of the jack who are careful, competent, trained, and qualified in the safe operation of the jack and its proper use when servicing motor vehicles and their com-ponents. Examples of hazards are dropping, tipping or slipping of loads caused primarily by improperly securing loads, overloading, off-centered loads, use on other than hard level surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose for which it was not intended.

METHODS TO AVOID HAZARDOUS SITUATIONS

• Read,study,understandandfollowallinstructionsbeforeoperatingthisdevice. • Inspectthejackbeforeeachuse.Donotusejackifdamaged,altered,modified,inpoorcondition,leakinghydraulicfluid, or unstable due to loose or missing components. SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedfortheSETUPINSTRUCTIONSsectionofthismanualtoalertyoutopotentialpersonal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death.

SETUP1. Refertotheexplodedviewpartsdrawinginthismanualtoidentifypartsmentionedinthissetupprocedure.2. The two piece handle (#26) can be slip fit together to form a complete handle length. Make sure the spring loaded wire in the smaller diameter handle engages the slotted hole in the larger diameter handle.3. Sometimesairgetstrappedinthehydraulicsystemduringshippingand/orhandling. PURGINGAIRFROMTHEHYDRAULICSYSTEM a. Attachtheendofthehandle(#26)tothejack'sreleasevalve(#28)andturnthehandleinacounterclockwisedirection two full revolutions from its closed position. b. Installthehandleinthepumphandle(#26)receiver(#22)andpumpthejackabout15incrementalpumpstrokes. c. Attachtheendofthehandle(#26)onthereleasevalve(#28)againandturnthehandleinaclockwisedirectionuntiltight. d. Proceedtopumpthehandleuntiltheramraisestomaximumheight. e. Repeatsteps"a"through"d"untilallairispurgedfromthesystem.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedfortheOPERATINGINSTRUCTIONSsectionofthismanualtoalertyoutopotential personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death. IMPORTANT:Beforeattemptingtoraiseanyvehicle,checkvehicleservicemanualforrecommendedliftingsurfaces.

OPERATION1. Becomefamiliarwiththeidentificationandfunctionoftheoperatingjackcomponents. a. Theram(#8)istheshaftthatcomesoutofthejackwhenyouactivatethepumppiston(#16). b. Theram(#8)isequippedwithanextensionscrew(#7)whichcanbeunscrewedtoextendfromtheram(#8)ifthereisnot enough hydraulic stroke to raise the load to the desired height.2. Chockthevehicle'stiresthatwillnotbeliftedoffthegroundpriortoliftingthevehicleandifavailable,applytheemergencybrake or any other method of braking.3. Positionthejackatthedesignatedliftpoint.Estimatetherequiredramtraveltoraisethevehicletothedesiredheight.Ifthetotal ramtravelwillnotliftthevehicletothedesiredheight,unscrewtheextensionscrew(#7)firstsothelowheightofthejackwillbe higher, thereby providing more effective ram stroke.4. Turnthereleasevalve(#28)inaclockwisedirectionuntiltight.5. Withthejackintheloweredposition,placethejackunderthevehicle,butdonotputyourbodyunderthevehicle. IMPORTANT:Usethevehiclemanufacturer'srecommendedliftingproceduresandliftingpointsbeforeliftingloads.6. Oncethejackisinplace,activatethepumpuntilthetopoftheextensionscrew(#7)comesclosetothedesignatedliftpoint. Make sure the designatedliftpointisflat,paralleltothegroundandfreefromgrease,anykindoflubricant,anddebris.Proceedwithpumping thejackinordertoliftthevehicletothedesiredheight.Duringlifting,inspectthepositionofthejackinrelationtothegroundand theram(#8)inrelationshiptotheloadtopreventanyunstableconditionsfromdeveloping.Ifconditionslookliketheyare becoming unstable, slowly lower the load and make appropriate setup corrections after the load is fully lowered.7. Whenthevehicleorloadisliftedtoitsdesiredheight,immediatelyplacesafetysupportstands(jackstands)intheirdesignated locationsandadjustthestands'supportcolumnsupasclosetothedesignatedvehiclesupportpointsaspossible.Althoughjack standsareindividuallyrated,theyaretobeusedinamatchedpairtosupportoneendofthevehicleonly.Standsarenottobe usedtosimultaneouslysupportbothendsoronesideofavehicle.Slowlyandcarefullyturnthereleasevalve(#28)ina counterclock wise direction to gently lower the vehicle onto the safety support stands (jack stands). Make sure the vehicle is safely supported by the safety support stands' (jack stands) saddles and not the locating lugs of the saddles. Inspect the relationship of the safety support stands (jack stands) with the ground and the safety support stand (jack stand) columns and saddleswiththevehicletopreventanyunstableconditions.Ifconditionslookunstable,closethejack'sreleasevalve(#28)and pump the jack to raise the vehicle off the safety support stands (jack stands). Make the appropriate setup changes, and slowly and carefully lower the vehicle onto the safety support stand saddles.8. Aftertheworkisdone,closethereleasevalve(#28)andpumpthejackuntilitishighenoughtoremovethevehicleorloadfrom thesafetysupportstandsaddles.Besureloadisstable.Ifitisnot,lowerloadbackontosafetysupportstands.Makeappropriate setupcorrectionsandrepeatthestepagain.Removethesafetysupportstandsfromunderthevehicle,beingverycarefulnotto move the vehicle.9. Turnthereleasevalve(#28)inacounterclockwisedirectionveryslowlyandcarefullytolowerthevehicleorloaddowntothe ground.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

ThisisthesafetyalertsymbolusedforthePREVENTATIVEMAINTENANCEsectionofthismanualtoalertyoutopotential personal injury hazards. Obey all instructions to avoid possible injury or death. IMPORTANT:Anyjackfoundtobedefectiveasaresultofwornpartsduetolackoflubrication,orhydraulicsystem contaminated with water, rust and/or foreign materials is not eligible for warranty consideration.

1. Alwaysstorethejackinawellprotectedareawhereitwillnotbeexposedtoinclementweather,corrosivevapors,abrasivedust,or any other harmful elements. The jack must be cleaned of water, snow, sand, grit, oil, grease or other foreign matter before using.2. Thejackmustbelubricatedperiodicallyinordertopreventprematurewearingofparts.Ageneralpurposegreasemustbeappliedto thethreadsontheextensionscrew.Donotlubricateanyportionoftheliftsaddleandmakesurethesaddleisfreefromgrease,any kind of lubricant, or debris before using the jack.3. Itshouldnotbenecessarytorefillortopoffthereservoirwithhydraulicfluidunlessthereisanexternalleak.Anexternalleakrequires immediate repair which must be performed in a dirt-free environment by qualified hydraulic repair personnel who are familiar with this equipment.AuthorizedServiceCentersarerecommended.IMPORTANT:Inordertopreventsealdamageandjackfailure,neveruse alcohol,hydraulicbrakefluid,ortransmissionoilinthejack.Usehydraulicjackoil.4. Everyjackownerisresponsibleforkeepingthejacklabelcleanandreadable.Useamildsoapsolutiontowashexternalsurfacesof the jack but not any moving hydraulic components.5. Donotattempttomakeanyhydraulicrepairsunlessyouareaqualifiedhydraulicrepairpersonthatisfamiliarwiththisequipment.

TROUBLESHOOTING

K-ToolInternational1YearLimitedWarranty

K-ToolInternationalLiftingEquipmentiswarrantedtobefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipwithinoneyearfromthedateoforiginal purpose. This warranty is extended to the original retail purchaser only. If any jack or service-related item proves to be defective during this period, it will be replaced or repaired, at K-Tool International’s option, without charge. This warranty does not apply to damage from accident, overload, misuse or abuse, nor does it apply to any equipment which has been altered or used with special attachments other than those recommended. This warranty does not cover repairs made by anyone who is not a K-Tool International ProfessionalLiftingEquipmentAuthorizedRepairCenter.

AllStandardDutyjacksorservice-relatedequipmentwillbereplacedorrepairedatK-ToolInternational’soptionduringthe1yearwarrantyperiod.Duringthe1yearwarrantyperiod,allallegeddefectiveproductsand/orpartsmustbeshipped,freightprepaid,alongwithproofofdate-of-purchase,toyournearestK-ToolInternationalProfessionalLiftingEquipmentAuthorizedWarrantyCenter.Becertain to include your name, address and phone number along with proof-of-purchase information, and a brief description of the alleged defect. The product will be returned to the customer, freight prepaid.

ManyallegeddefectivesmaysimplybehandledbycallingyournearestServiceCenterforparts.Seepages16-18foralistingofauthorized warranty service centers.

In no event shall K-Tool International be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Calcelasllantasdelvehículolasquenoseránlevantadasdelpisoprevioallevantamientodelvehículoysiesdisponible,aplique el freno de emergencia o cualquier otro método de frenado.3. Unefoisletravailterminé,fermerlasoupape(#28)derelâchementetfairemonterlevérinsuffisammentpourretirerlevéhiculeou lachargedelaselledeschandelles.S’assurerquelachargeeststable.Sicen’estpaslecas,abaisserdenouveaulachargesur leschandelles.Apporterlesajustementsnécessairesetrépéterlesétapes.Retirerleschandellesdudessousduvéhiculeen prenant bien soin de ne pas faire bouger le véhicule.9. Tournerlentementetavecprécautionleboutondelasoupape(#28)derelâchementdanslesensantihoraireafind’abaisserle véhicule ou la charge jusqu’au sol.

IMPORTANT: Tout vérin trouvé défectueux à la suite de pièces usées en raison d’un manque de lubrification ou d’une lubrification insuffisante n’est pas admissible à la considération de garantie.

1. Toujoursentreposerlecricdansunendroitbienprotégéoùilneserapasexposéàdesintempéries,vapeurscorrosives, poussièresabrasives,ouautresélémentsnuisibles.Lecricdoitêtrenettoyédetouteeau,neige,sable,poussière,huile,graisseou autre corps étranger avant son utilisation.2. Lecricdoitêtrelubrifiépériodiquementafind'éviterl'usureprématuréedespièces.Unegraisseàusagegénéraldoitêtreappliquée sur tous les embouts graisseurs, les roulettes, l'essieu avant, le bras de levage, l'axe d'articulation du support du manche, le mé canisme de dégagement et toutes les surfaces portantes3. À moins d’une fuite, il ne devrait pas être nécessaire de remplir le réservoir de liquide hydraulique. Toute fuite doit être immédiatement réparée dans un environnement sans poussières par un technicien qualifié en réparation de composantes hydrauliques et familier avec ce type d’équipement. Il est recommandé de faire appel à un centre de service autorisé. IMPORTANT:Pourprévenirles dommages aux joints d’étanchéité et la défectuosité du cric, ne jamais utiliser d’alcool, de liquide à freins hydrauliques ni d’huile à transmissiondanslecric.Utiliserdel'huileàcrichydraulique.4.
