Religion
Making a May Altar 1. Find a spot
You can set up the altar anywhere you like. It could be an unused desk, a small table or even a deep windowsill. Next you want to put down a cloth. This can be a small sheet, a pillow or a piece of fabric. If you have it in blue or white that would be good as these are Mary’s colours.
2. Make it special
If you have a statue of Mary, however large or small, make sure it’s part of your spot. If you don’t have a statue then a picture or a holy card will do.
3. Add some flowers
Finally, you’ll need vases for your May altar. Jars, bottles, cans with labels removed and drinking glasses can all be used as vases. Add some nice flowers to the vases. You can write a nice message to Mary and leave it on the altar.
