DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To coordinate and collect, analyse, report on and support the effective use of data for the purposes of evaluating Women’s Aid’s flagship programme, Change that Lasts.

1. To work with the National Impact and Evaluation Officer, the wider Research and Evaluation team and the Change that Lasts team to coordinate data collection for Change that Lasts pilots.

2. To support the Change that Lasts delivery team to develop evaluation frameworks and tools to capture relevant data.

3. To support the Change that Lasts delivery team to collect, input, clean, analyse and use data effectively.

4. To collect, input, clean and analyse additional data as required for the evaluation of Change that Lasts, including data required by external evaluators.

5. To support the use of Women’s Aid’s outcome monitoring and case management system On Track for evaluating Change that Lasts. To include working with frontline services to support them to use the system effectively as well as collecting, cleaning, analysing, reporting on and supporting the effective use of data at the national level.

6. To draft, contribute to and advise on reports and presentations as required, including providing statistical analysis where relevant and clearly highlighting the policy and practice implications of the data, and respond to queries a s required.

7. To provide technical expertise as required on statistical analysis, including the use of excel and statistical software packages.

2. To work with the Research and Evaluation team to make effective use of data to support Women’s Aid’s strategic priorities.

1. To work with the Research and Evaluation team to collect, input, clean and analyse data from both internal and external sources.

2. To work with the Research and Evaluation team to report on the data, including drafting, contributing to and advising on reports and presentations. To include providing statistical analysis where relevant and clearly highlighting the policy and practice implications of the data.

3. To work with the Research and Evaluation team to strengthen data collection processes and the use of data to inform both policy and practice, with a particular focus on the use of quantitative data. To include providing technical expertise as required on statistical analysis, including the use of Excel and statistical software packages.

4. To support the development, dissemination and use of Women’s Aid’s On Track programme, including the use of the On Track national database.

5. To keep up to date with latest developments in research and research methodology.

3. General Responsibilities

1. To maintain clear and adequate records of work done and to produce reports on work programmes and activities as required by management.

2. To contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities, and to participate in supervision and other line management meetings.

3. To take direction on projects and priorities from your line manager, which may vary from time to time.

4. To carry out word-processing, filing, and administrative tasks necessary to comply with the job description.

5. To assist in the delivery of conferences or events organised by Women’s Aid, if required.

6. To abide by organisational policies, codes of conduct and practice, and work within a framework of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.

7. To be flexible within the broad remit of the post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Data Analyst (Change that Lasts)

EXPERIENCEEssential: Experience of conducting quantitative research, including collecting, inputting,

cleaning, analysing and supporting the effective use of data Experience of conducting statistical analysis using Excel Experience of using, designing and developing databases Experience of conducting statistical analysis on large scale datasets using

statistical packages, including SPSS

SUMMARY OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Terms of appointment: Confirmation of appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. This will normally be of six months (less for short term contracts). During this time an employee will be expected to establish their suitability for the post. During the probationary period employment may be terminated in writing, giving one week's notice by either party (this may be waived by mutual agreement). Only any statutory dismissal procedure will apply during the probationary period. There is no probationary period for contracts of under 3 months.

Salary: £25,346-28,549 plus £3,332 Inner London Weighting (On an incremental scale guided by the NJC Local authority pay scale points 29-33) + benefits. Salary is paid in arrears through bank credit by the 25th of each month. Part time staff receive pro-rata payment based on hours worked.

Working hours: The standard working hours for this post are 37 hours per week, based in London; benefits include a generous bank holidays and annual leave package and contributory pension scheme.

Support and supervision: Women’s Aid has a commitment to providing regular supervision and support to staff with annual appraisals forming a key part of staff development. We have a training policy in place and encourage staff to take an active role in their career development plan. Pension: Women’s Aid is enrolled with the People’s Pension scheme. Women’s Aid normally contributes 7% of salary and the employee contributes 3% towards the group pension scheme. Eligible staff will be automatically enrolled on the scheme when they have successfully completed the 3 month interim probationary review. .

Annual Leave: Women’s Aid offers an annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year rising by one day per year until 30 days annual leave per year is reached. In addition, we offer 8 days public holidays plus 2 additional days in March and August. All leave entitlement is calculated pro-rata for part time employees.

Other leave: Employees have contractual rights to time off for reasons of sickness, maternity and other circumstances.

Period of notice: 1 month after your probationary period has been completed.

Union: You have a right to membership of a trade union. Women’s Aid recognises Unison.

Asylum and Immigration Act 1996: To comply with this Act, Women’s Aid will need to see the original of at least one document from a specified list, most commonly a British Passport.
