Design Curriculum Students engage in textual research for a specific play and discuss the significance of this information. This information will then be used to discuss and plan designs for theatre flats. Students will then have the opportunity to help build theatre flat and paint their set. Students will learn how costume designers deal with budgets and the process of getting actors ready. Students will have two full days of engaging with a light and sound board while learning how it is used in a show. Students will receive these instructions through a series of different applications. Instructors will use media/video to showcase past design presentations of Hattiloo productions. These visual elements will help students see the work of an actual designer and see how different design areas work together. We will also include lecture based content that will inspire students to brainstorm and discuss ideas. Most of our students will enjoy the hands-on engagement of building and designing props for production. We combine all of these methods to bring a one of kind experience to your child. Hattiloo has aligned our curriculum with Tennessee Art Education Standards to give your students the best learning experience. S tudents will be able to apply elements of technical theatre and determine needs for a scripted scene. We will also explain proper safety habits used in a theatre setting during constructions of sets. Students will also be able identify and describe roles associated with theatre production.
