= FR C THE PRESIDENT

I hope that each member will give serious consideration to attendance atthe PCA-MR Third Anniversary Banquet. Not only will we enjoy celebrating ourClub's anniversary, but maximum attendance at the banquet (held in lieu ofour regular meeting each November) will assure us of maximum participationin the election of our officers for 1966. Plan now to attend - invite aguest - and mail your reservations without delay..,. Received a couple ofbrief communications fromr our Technical Chairman, Roger Chaney, one of thefortunate participants in the 7th PCA Treffen. Congratulations are in order, too: driving his new 911, Roger won a handsome, engraved, silver tray - the2nd-place trophy in the 2-liter class at a slalom organized by PCA GermanyRegion at the Hockenhem Ring near Heidelberg, Also, he reported an enjoyablevisit and tour of the ?rankfurt area with a group of 7 other 911s - hostedby the Porsche Club Mairn-Kinz.g. We are looking forward to Roger's return;sounds as though he is having a wonderful trip!.... The following notice("From Her Majesty's government"), which I came across in the September 1edition of the British D ily Mirror, made for interesting reading End sfood for serious thought for the members .f the sports car fraternity athis side of the Atlantic. Quote: CONTROi OF MOTOR RALLIES, TREASURE JNT,ETC. After 1st March it will be an offence, under Section 36 o the R. )Traffic Act 1962, to promote or take part in a competition or trial ir >1-ving the use of motor vehicles on a public highway in England and al.;unless the event is authorized. Regulations for the control of these -\ nt&have been laid before Parliament. Unquote, It goes on to say that cer;irevents are automatically authorized, but that most events must be spe i 2ictl-ly okayed by the local Chief Constable or the Royal Automobile Club.- s chauthorization requiring at least 4 weeks notice for the Local Law and E weeksnotice for the RAC. (Editor's Note: inconsderate behavior by enthui<.s s,especially on the quiet Sunday afternoons when many events are held, (aresult in this happening here. I know of several instances in North C rirawhere rallies were flatly outlawed for just these reasons.)

= NEW MEMBERS!!! =

This month PCA Maverick Region welcomes EDGAR and MARTHA FUTTERKNECJIT, (f1250 Hidden Valley Drive, Dallas, Texas 75241 (phone: FR6-7789). They havea Ruby Red 356C coupe, vintage 1965. Edgar lists "barking" as his orcupE tir~n,and his Porsche interests as 1 short rallies, 2 lorg rallies, and 2 te ii-cal. Many of us met them at the October meeting, and we do indeed welconthem to the Club.

= RANDOM RANTINGS =

The October meeting was most gratifying: not only were there many ner ''a esthere, but many seldom-seen ones, too (Yours Truly included, I admit), anithe buffet served by the Jolly Roger was GOOD. I hope even more, now,our problem of "where'll we have the regular meeting?" is solved. The cc;orfilm on the '65 Indianapolis was presented by E Lamm, of Wynn's Frictio1Proofing, and was one of the best of its type toat I have seen.... A remi -der to the thrifty among us: BAP (British Auto Parts) in Fort Worth willgive PCA-ers a discount. They're on Foch Street, sort of behind the PMCdealer/distributor, and about 5 blocks East of the Fort Worth VW-Porschedealer. Don't know how much of their stuff is applicable to our cars, bhtthey do handle Dunlop tires, including radials.:.. A dark blue Porsche 912passed me last Friday: LOVELY, LOVELY, LOVELY. Anybody want to buy a vO 0from me?... DON'T FORGET TO SEND IN YOUR RESERVATION FOR THE ANNIVER AriYBANQUET --- SEE YOU THERE!!!
