We, the Senior

the Eagle, to our school building, which has housed trials and uibulations, as well as fun and happiness. Long may it stand!
Through our m i n d s many years from now will pass the memories good and bad, that are associated with this school and which we are now reluctant to leave as we venture farther down the road of life.

but who should do 1-;ss in these times? It is my hope that many of you will continue formal
educa.ion in other schools nd colleges. Education is very essential in democracy and especially in these trying times.
It is my sincere wish that all young people, and especidll, te ones I know, shall n fdil 'n citiz rship and spiriLual growth.

SENIOR POEM
Some time ago twelve years, in factIn nineteen thirty -nine, The class of nineteen fifty-one Began to rise and shine. I'll introduce each one of them And tell a fact or two About their main ambitions or The things they like to do. First of all comes Donna Bell. Believe me, she's not dumb! I wonder what ha& made her smart. Perhaps her chewing gum? Dan Jackson is a peppy kid. His red hair is in curls. And he is liked by everyone-Especially the girls.
Ilene Peck and Jean, now, They make a ducky pair! Jean's a very tall girl, but Irene stands 'way down -- -----there! Leila Freeman, then, comes next. She stands just five feet, four. A very demure girl is she Yet full of fun galore. Marilyn's so quiet that We hardly know she's here. And she's so cute she got elected Annual queen this year. Next, Dickie Fluke. Oh, what a guy! His car won him his fame. And though he's always late for school, The car is not to blame. And now we come to Lois Laing. She's sweet, she's swell, she's bright. We also have Dolores Wimp Who's fun from morn till night, Melvin is our annual king; A swell and dandy guy • He's cute and sweet and hard to beat. He's also rather shy. Lynn Healey and David Brabb Are really on the beam. They're teacher's pests instead of pets, But captains of our team. Pete and George are mighty guys. (This is what I meant:) Pete is annual editor, And George - --our president. Edward Peters and Bob Wimp Are last but far from least. We couldn't do without them, or We don't want to, at least.

CLASS PROPHECY
Jean Hainer has devoted her time to raising her small family of twelve boys and twelve girls. She decided they were cheaper by the dozen. One day in Juvember of 1999, her little girl took sick. She rushed her to a doctor. On the window was "Dr. 'Fixum• Healey ". They went in and saw a tall, gangly, curly, gray haired man, and
who was it but our own Lynn Healey who used to live on a ranch near Eads, Colorado. He said that he owned a 12800 acre ranch in Wyoming. He was also a veterinarian.
This was the wrong doctor but she had gotten to see an old classmate. Well, Jean proceeded on to the hospital. A nurse met them and asked them what they wanted, and this nurse turned out to be Marilyn Healey. She said she was the head nurse at this hospital. Jean was really glad she had succeeded so well in her work.
While they were in town, she decided to sign up her four eldest for piano lessons. They walked up the steps of a large, beautiful, building and who was sitting at the piano but Lois Laing. She had been teaching for forty years now.
As they were driving home, they passed a resort that gave swimming lessons. The boys persuaded her to go back and let them start lessons. They drove up to a pretty abode. A nice-looking woman met them and who was this but Leila Freeman. She lived right on a lake and gave swimming instructions herself. Miss Freeman (Mrs?) also told them that she wrote poetry in her spare time and sold them to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. They were glad to know that she was doing so well.
Miss Freeman took two of the boys for their first lesson and they were sitting in the lounge talking when in walked two handsome men who were just graying a little at the temples. These men looked familiar, and sure enough, she knew them. They were Melvin Richardson and Bob Wimp. Mel told her that he was playing baseball for the Dooklyn Brodgers. Bob told her that he was a five-star General in the Air -Corps.
While these men were sitting there with her, recalling the good old days at E. H. S. , a couple of distinguished looking men came into the lounge. They also looked familiar to her. Sure enough, she knew them; they were George Schleining and Peter Hoepner. While they were talking they told them that they had purchased
the Holcomb's Grocery and now it was known as the "S -H Indigestion Store. " These two men were also among her graduating class. George was the president of the class.
When they were about to leave, another graying chap came in. He looked very familiar to all of them. He turned out to be Edward Peters. Edward told them he was playing the tuba in Dimmy Jorsey's band in Yew Nork.
They all left the Freeman home and journeyed on. Jean decided to get some meat before going home. There was a locker plant enroute so she stopped and a very familiar face was behind the counter. This face belonged to Dan Jackson. He had built himself up a mighty fine business.
While she was waiting, a dignified lady came hurrying in. This lady turned out to be Irene Peck who was successfully married to a Wimp. She was her usual old self, in a hurry, so Jean didn't get to ask her which one of the Wimps it was.
Jean went on down the road. The creamery was out a little further and she wanted to leave her cream there this time. She was sort of in a hurry and was rather surprised when Donna Bell met her. Jean was in a hurry and she was busy so she had to leave, but she promised she would be seeing her again.
She and her family started on their way toward home; then "BOOM!", and one corner of her car dropped lower than usual. Oh -oh, a flat tire! But - -Ahl A garage only two blocks away. "1931 Chevrolet Fliver Service ", the sign read; a funny name but she thought they might fix her flat tire, an 1807 model. Her feet dragged her into the shop and a tall, graying man (familiar, too) met her and asked her what he could do for her.
After she explained, he agreed to tow her to his shop and repair her tire. Her kids are bubble -gum chewers so she let them get some gum. Well, of all the trouble they had! One girl got a tooth pulled, another had her mouth fastened shut. One boy got his tongue fastened to the roof of his mouth and goodness knows what all!
She didn't like this so she decided to go see a gum manufacturer and demand they take all the stickiness out of it.
On the gum -machine it read, "Brabbs Tripple Bubble Gum ". It also gave the address so when this man fixed her tire she was going to see him.
This familiar garage owner turned out to be Dick Fluke. Mr. Fluke had owned a 1931, two -toned, green car which was called "Fliver" when he was going to E. H. s. "Fliver" got him to school every day, even if it was a little late.
Well, upon reaching the Brabb factory, a very distinguished lady asked her mission. This lady kept staring at her and it made her wonder if her slip was showing or something. Finally she asked Jean her name. Jean told her and (yes, you're right!) she was Dolores Wimp. She had made good her desire to become a private secretary.
Dolores ushered her into the private office of Mr. Brabb. The gum -chewing man standing before her looked mighty familiar. He introduced himself as David Brabb.
After David had promised to do what he could about the stickiness of the gum, her tired, scrapping, kids and she departed at last to their Reformatory Ranch where, with stringing hair and dirty faces she put her little troup to bed in their cells.
CLASS HISTORY
The first day of school in 1939, as Miss Jessie Morris, the first grade teacher,
