17MY UPDATE

JAGUAR XJ

The 17MY update gives us the opportunity to introduce additional features to the Jaguar XJ.

This PDF sets out the enhancements and changes, which include the expansion of InControl Touch Pro and InControl Connect Pro to more markets. Also, Dual View technology is being reintroduced as an optional feature. There are some minor changes to the paint offering, a new 19” wheel and some global legal VIN updates and legislation specific to Russia.

INCONTROL REACHES MORE MARKETSInControl, including connected services, has been expanded to include the following markets; Australia, Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea and Switzerland.

InControl Connect Pro is now available in; United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Argentina, Bahrain, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand and Mexico.

For 17MY, the Jaguar XJ is now available with optional Dual View* technology.

The InControl Touch Pro system supports Dual View technology which allows the front seat passenger to watch TV, DVD or video from a USB device, while the driver can operate Navigation or the Phone on the same screen at the same time.

With Dual View technology the vehicle Touchscreen displays two images but a filter determines what can be seen on each side of the screen.

RE-INTRODUCTION OF DUAL VIEW

When stationary, the driver and the passenger can both view all visual choices but when the vehicle begins to move, the driver can no longer see any moving images. Instead, they are shown the standard Touchscreen menu from which they can select Navigation.

The front seat passenger can watch their chosen film or TV channel and the sound can be played through the vehicle’s speakers, or through the Whitefire® digital wireless headphones. Using the headphones also allows the driver to listen to an audio source such as Radio or a CD through the cabin speakers.

CD and DVD cannot play at the same time as they use the same playback slot.

SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION (SCR)

It is essential that retailer staff at the point of delivery explain and confirm to the customer or user of the vehicle that they understand the following: For the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to work, the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) levels in the vehicle’s DEF tank must be properly maintained.

The consumption of DEF can vary greatly. An average consumption will be 800km (500 miles)/1Litre but this consumption rate can be more than doubled depending on driving style, road and weather conditions. When the DEF level becomes low, a notification message displays in the message centre. DEF can be topped up using non-drip refill bottles available from a retailer/authorised repairer but the customer or user will need to refill the DEF tank at the earliest opportunity.

A retailer/authorised repairer can be contacted to arrange a full DEF refill. DEF quality and DEF flow rate are monitored. A similar warning system will notify the driver if inferior DEF quality or a DEF system malfunction are detected, starting with a warning explaining the issue that gives you 530 miles to take corrective action.

NOTE: Customers should be encouraged to contact their authorised service agent as soon as a DEF indication message is displayed.

Note: DEF is also known as AdBlue®, AUS 32 and ARLA 32.

NEW COLOURS FOR THE XJ 17MY

Due to the popularity of new paints introduced for the new Jaguar F-PACE, three paints have been introduced for the Jaguar XJ 17MY. From left to right, Gallium Silver, Cosmic Black (replaces Celestial Black) and Caesium Blue.

NEW WHEELA new 19” Sunda Wheel has been introduced as an option for the Jaguar XJ 17MY.

RUSSIA:GLONASS or “GLObal NAvigation Satellite System”, is a space-based satellite navigation system operating in the radionavigation-satellite service and used by the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces. It provides an alternative (and often better for Russia) to GPS and is the second alternative navigational system in operation with global coverage and of comparable precision. GLONASS has been added for XJ’s sold in Russia as part of new legislation.
