Parent Survey – “The Tell Them From Me” Survey I am delighted that this term (as in term 1), our school, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. This term, the student survey again aims to help improve student learning outcomes and measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices. Our school will also be participating in the Partners in Learning parent survey, another part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys (student, teacher and parent surveys) on student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement. Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s experience at school. These include: communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and practices at home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour. This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements. The survey is conducted entirely online at home or on public

A BIG THANKYOU to Black Olive Pizzeria for donating the dough to make our

delicious wood fired pizzas for our Kitchen Garden working bee.

Year 6 S.T.E.M day On Tuesday, 12 kids from year 6 went to a stem day at Moruya High School. At the start we went in to the maths room for the breakfast. We had pancakes, ice cream, maple syrup and more. After the delicious breakfast we started on fractals which is a never ending pattern that has infinite perimeter. Then it was recess and while at recess we met some high schoolers. Then we went to the I.T class with Mr Tester and in the I.T class we programmed a game and our characters were called Bobliio platt and lil Jerry. Then we went to lunch and toured around the school. After lunch we went to science with Mr Norris, we got given 2 pieces of paper and 1 meter of tape with that we had to make a strong tower that would hold the most mass. That was our day at the high school. By Lena and Pia

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING IN THE CLASSROOM THIS WEEK PBL - POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOR LEARNING

This week we are focusing on Learning:

Join in Listen carefully Be a positive role model Represent the school with pride Be equipped, prepared and ready to learn Come to school every day

PEER SUPPORT Why Teach Values?

Values provide a framework for behaviour, they also give meaning and significance to our lives. Our values are a reflection of who we are. They shape our sense of Self as we discover the different reactions we have to a variety of situations.

Session 6

During Peer Support this week, the children will be discussing and developing ways to be responsible. The activities will reinforce the concept that being responsible is doing what we say we will do and to the best of our ability.

This week help develop with your child 2-3 things they can do around the home to show they are responsible ie feed the dog each night, set the table at 6.30pm each day.
