POUND CAKE WITH EASY CARAMEL FROST-
ING2 cups butter, softened2 2/3 cups sugar8 large eggs3 1/2 cups all-purpose
flour1/2 cup half and half1 tsp. vanilla extractEasy Caramel FrostingBeat butter at medium
speed of an electric mixer un-til creamy. Gradually add sug-ar, beating at medium speed 5 to minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow disappears.
Add flour to creamed mixture alternately with half-and-half, beginning and end-ing with flour. Mix at low speed just until blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool in pan on wire rack 10 to 15 minutes; remove from pan, and let cool completely on wire rack. Spread Easy Cara-mel Frosting on top and sides of cake. Spread the caramel frosting on the cake immedi-ately after it has reached the desired spreading consisten-cy. Otherwise it will become too stiff.
CARAMEL FROSTING1/2 cup butter1 cup firmly packed
brown sugar1/4 cup whipping cream2 1/2 cups sifted pow-
dered sugar1 tsp. vanilla extractMelt butter in a heavy
saucepan. Add brown sugar; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until sugar dissolves ( Do not boil) Remove from heat. Stir in whipping cream. Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
Beat at high speed of an electric mixer until frosting is spreading consistency. Makes enough for one cake.

1/4 cup water

water and eggs, stirring until blended; pour into 3 greased and floured 8-inch round cakepans. Bake at 350 de-grees for 12 minutes. Let cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes, remove from pans and let cool completely on wire racks.
Beat whipping cream at medium speed of electric mixer until foamy, gradually add powdered sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Stir in almond extract. Spread filling between layers.
Spread Chocolate Glaze on top and sides. Arrange al-monds around sides, covering spaces between layers. Store in refrigerator.

3 T. water2 T. vegetable oil2 T corn syrup2 c. sifted powdered
sugarCombine first 4 ingre-
dients in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat stirring constantly, 2 minutes or until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar.
