Donations can be made for the Sunday Offering as well as most Second Collections and the Parish Renewal Fund. Why use the Online Program? Because gifts are done electronically you will no longer need to worry about remembering to bring your envelopes to church. It also allows you to use VISA or Master-card so you will be able to earn your miles or other awards on your credit cards. You can access our secure site by using the link on our parish website at www.SaintChris.com. Thank you in advance for you support of our parish.

Out of Town? FYI There is a web site, you can access when ever you are out of town and need a church for Mass, Go to www.masstimes.org and look up churches and Mass times, where ever you are. Check it out.

A big Thank You to the 683 families who have al-ready replied to the 2017 ADA. With your support we have reached our goal of $221,136 that was set by the Diocese. If you have not yet responded to ADA your participation is more important now than ever. Why? Because all money donated over and above our goal is 100% rebated back to the parish. Extra ADA envelopes can be found in the back of the Church as well as in the Parish Office. Or you can call the Parish Office at 269-2226 to have one mailed to you. Again, thank you all for your support and God Bless you and your family.

Please join the St Christopher ROSARY GROUP after 8 :30AM Mass Weekdays (Mon through Sat)

By the grace of Our Blessed Mother, Mary, we are blessed to have one active visible Rosary Group in our parish. Please join us after the daily 8:30 AM Mass, where the Rosary Group remains after the final hymn, and joins in the prayer to Our Lady. This Ro-sary Group has a long history at St Christopher.

Everyone is welcome to join us after the 8 AM week-day Mass.

Be Well and Be Blessed

Our joint efforts fund St. Christopher’s school sports programs, parish and school technolo-gy and building upgrades, tuition assistance and nu-merous other local charities. Events such as the St. Christopher Festival, Benefit Auction, Antique Show and Western Welcome provide many opportunities to get involved. Outreach would like to send a heart felt thank you, to all that helped in donating food and candy to our 50 outreach families. We were able to provide Easter Baskets to 120 kids. Which we could not have been possible with out your

generosity. THANK YOU!!!

The Second Sunday of Easter is designated by the Church as Sunday of Divine Mercy. Webster's de-fines mercy as "a refraining from harming or punish-ing offenders, enemies, persons in one's power, etc; kindness in excess of what may be expected or de-manded by fairness; forbearance and compassion." There is no question that the "Divine" has shown mercy upon us humans throughout recorded history. If the scriptures are meant to be reflected in human interaction, then the demonstration, or lack, of mercy in the 21st Century ought to be of concern. In today's Gospel, Jesus refers to us by saying: Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed." As be-lievers, we are obliged to live out his ministry here and now. What is the role of mercy, as defined by Webster, in our lives as Catholics? Consider: immigration; prev-alence of xenophobia; health care (for all? for some?); the death penalty; abortion; the LGBT com-munity; a woman's ability to safely confront harass-ment; the threatened environment; the power of the 1%; loss of protection from avaricious financial ad-visers; etc. Indeed, these are secular issues. However, they im-pact the ability for all to live with safety, security and comfort. As Pope Francis points out in "The Joy of the Gospel" (182): "It is no longer possible to claim that religion should be restricted to the private sphere and that it exists only to prepare souls for heaven. We know that God wants his children to be happy in this world too, even though they are called to fulfill-ment in eternity, for he has created all things 'for our enjoyment' (1 Tm 6:17), the enjoyment of everyone. It follows that Christian conversion demands review-ing especially those areas and aspects of life 'related to the social order and the pursuit of the common good' (Pope John Paul II, Ecclesia in America, no. 27)." Am I to be silent and ignore/reject the message of Good Friday/Easter? Comments and input Doug Harper [email protected]
