ISSUE OF LETTER OF PERMISSION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OFNEW MEDICAL COLLEGE/INCREASE IN INTAKE CAPACITY INEXISITING MEDICAL COLLEGES FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION

2018-19

The Medical Council of India has recommended to Central Governmentto issue Letter of Permission (LoP) for establishment of new MedicalColleges/Increase in intake capacity in existing Medical Colleges for theacademic session 2018-19 in respect of the following Colleges:

3. The Ministry will issue necessary letters calling for documents etc.shortly and the letters will also be uploaded on the website of the Ministry.

4. The Colleges whose Schemes have been approved are required to furnishthe following documents/undertaking for getting the Letter of Permission (LoP)from the Central Government:-

(i) The applicant shall provide all infrastructural facilities in terms ofteaching and non-teaching staff, buildings, equipment and hospitalfacilities as per Medical Council of India norms.

(ii) No student shall be admitted in the above course till the formalpermission of the Central Govt. is granted.

(iii) The Private Medical College should provide Bank Guarantee of requiredamount (wherever applicable) in favour of Medical Council of India, NewDelhi valid for three years from a nationalized/ scheduled Bank as perMCI's norms. However, medical colleges/institutions governed by theState Govt. are required to furnish only an undertaking to provide fundsin their budget till the facilities are fully provided as per time boundprogramme indicated by them.

5. The applicant colleges except who have already furnished the requiredBank Guarantee/Undertaking etc., are therefore advised to be ready withnecessary documents so that the same can be sent to the Ministry on receivingthe letter for such documents. The last date for issuing LoP is 31.05.2018.In case of any difficulty, applicant organizations may communicate atdvkrao@nic.in & sushil. bading79@nic.in.
