A note from the Pastor… Our Lord has given us life,

existence on earth and forever

in heaven along with all our

brothers and sisters who have

fallen in love with God. We

thank Our Lord for this mar-

velous gift and ask to learn to

love more in the year ahead.

Without love for God and for

each other our life would be empty. With such love

we can live peacefully and happily forever.

Thanks be to God! God’s gift of Faith in Him and all that He does

increases our love for him, though we may not

always understand His path for us. But faith guides

us through the hardships to know He is always at our

side, no matter how good or bad we are, loving us

and guiding us, through our life on earth. We thank God for the freedom we have in a beauti-

ful and wealthy country where anyone can achieve

dreams that he or she could never achieve anywhere

else on earth. God has given us strength, personally

and as a nation. Through the intercession of

Our Lady, we ask God’s blessings to preserve this

freedom of life, of faith and of eternal happiness.

Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!

The Schola Cantorum of the Church of Saint Agnes is joined by singers of New York's

choirs will sing classic carols to celebrate the Advent of our Lord, including works by Brit

ten, Grieg, Palestrina, Poston, and more. The service is punctuated by nine readings,

Or “lessons,” and many congregational hymns, which guide those present through the

spiritual journey of Advent. The choirs are conducted by Alexander Pattavina, the Director

of Music at St. Agnes. Mass in SPANISH for the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Wednesday,

December 12th, at 6pm. Caroling outside of St. Agnes Church on Monday, December 17th at 5pm. This is also

Support for Same-Sex

Attraction

Courage is a group of

Catholics who experience

same-sex attractions and who are committed to help-

ing one another to live chaste lives marked by prayer,

fellowship, and mutual support. The members are

guided by caring priest chaplains who offer direction

and encouragement for the spiritual life. Courage is alive in NYC! Cardinal Dolan is a

supporter of Courage and Bishop O’Hara is on the

Board of Directors. We have a weekly meeting of

Courage here at St. Agnes Church. Interested in at-

tending? Talk to Fr. Barrett after Mass, mail him

at [email protected], or stop by the

rectory office.

fails to love Christ.
