Morris is a painter and printmaker, based in South West London. Her work focuses onsignificant forms and patterns in natural and urban landscapes. A common thread linking muchof her art is decay.

Inspiration might come from a weather-beaten, decomposing tree stump, a track worn intothe landscape by generations of feet, the crumbling and erosion of landscapes or thepeeling paint or crumbling stonework of an old or neglected building.

She finds that the process of etching lends itself to representing these themes as theplate is itself eroded by the acid, scraped and polished, scratched and sometimes cutinto fragments.

Morris has recently begun to explore other printmaking methods including collagraphs andlithography. When she paints she often scrapes and sands back layers of paint to reveallayers beneath the surface.
