JUNE 13 ISSUE · 2013 TERM 2 · WEEK 7 t central express The official newsletter of Central Coast Adventist School Central Coast Adventist School It’s A Trap! ‘... Am I trying to please people?’ Galatians 1:10 NCV ‘Am I trying to please people?’ is a great question to ask ourselves. For whatever reason, we can fall into the same old people-pleasing trap over and over again. And so we become the shoulder to cry on, not because we want to help someone out, but rather because we like the feeling of being needed. Or we volunteer to help out at any given opportunity, not out of an act of service, but because we enjoy being known as the ‘helpful’ one. When our goal becomes about elevating ourselves rather than God, we’re never going to be truly happy. There will always be someone to point out our failings. There will always be people who let us know when we’ve done well. But what you say about yourself or what others think about you is secondary. The opinion that counts above all others is God’s and, as you know, you already have God’s approval! So, don’t use your kind acts as a way of building yourself up, but use God’s approval as inspiration to carry out kindness. People-pleasing leads to disappointment; God’s approval leads to people pleased. Ask the Holy Spirit for help to answer these questions: Do I do things for others because You want me to or because I need to feel needed? Do I do things for others out of guilt or fear? Do I do things for others because I feel I have to or because You’ve asked me? Only when God is your source of approval will you be totally satisfied and content to be yourself. - word4U2day (an adaptation of The Word for Today authored by Bob & Debby Gass) CAMPUS NEWS School Photos School photos are due back soon. It’s A Trap!‘... Am I trying to please people?’ Galatians 1:10

NCV‘Am I trying to please people?’ is a great

question to ask ourselves.

Home & SchoolThe CCAS Home & School committee has a new team ready to create unique fundraising opportunities with maximum dollar return for the school and value for money for families. All proceeds raised with each fundraising activity will be given directly back to CCAS, delivering improved facilities for the students in both Primary and High School. We will also continue to provide fabulous gifts for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Make sure you “Like” the CCAS Facebook Page so you can use to check on the latest CCAS fundraising activity, reminders, updates, etc.

The first fundraising activity will be Organic “Grow in the Bag” herbs and vegetables. Stay tuned for more information about this fun, healthy fundraiser for Term 3. Our goal is to raise enough money to replace the wood chips with soft fall surface in the Primary playground. We look forward to your support...
