FEATURESThe Model 1135F Field-Mounted P/I Converter,

together with the Model 1133 rack-mounted version, bring unsurpassed performance and versatility tothe pressure-to-current converter market. Thisinstrument operates on the same variablecapacitance sensing technique that has made theRosemount pressure transmitter the most widelyaccepted electronic pressure transmitter in the worldtoday.

Designed for field installation, the Model 1135Fconverts incoming pneumatic signals into anelectronic 4–20 mA output signal. It is ideal forplants that are converting from pneumatic toelectronic control. It is also an excellent choice foruse in electronic plants that monitor local pneumaticcontrol loops in safety-related areas.

The dual-compartment housing design of theconverter permits the electronics and pressuresensor to be environmentally isolated from the fieldwiring terminals, thus increasing reliability. A singleplug-in amplifier board is readily accessible andeasily removed for replacement or troubleshooting. To meet hazardous location certifications, theelectronics compartment is designed with flamearresters located between the internal compartmentand the external ports leading to the outsideatmosphere.

The range of the Model 1135F is continuouslyadjustable from 0–12 to 0–30 psig (0–83 to 0–207kPa). The ordering information lists five factorycalibrated ranges, but the converter may be factorycalibrated to any custom range within its operatinglimits. Various material and certification options areavailable, including a direct-reading output signalmeter.

The Model 1135F pressure-to-current convertercombines proven design, superior performance, andmaintenance simplicity to make it the finest P/Iconverter on the market.

OPERATIONInstrument air is applied to an isolating

diaphragm on one side of the patented d-Cell™ sensor. An oil-fill fluid transmits the applied pressure to oneside of the sensing diaphragm in the center of thed-Cell sensor. In a like manner, an atmosphericreference pressure is transmitted to the other sideof the sensing diaphragm. The displacement of thesensing diaphragm, moving a maximum of 0.004 in.(0.10 mm), is proportional to the pressuredifferential across it. Fixed capacitor plates on bothsides of the sensing diaphragm continuously detectthe position of the sensing diaphragm. Thedifferential capacitance between the sensingdiaphragm and the capacitor plates is convertedelectronically to a 2-wire, 4–20 mA dc signal.
