Page 3: 10concptcbe

Front Head

Transfers forces from tool into side plates.

Supports tool guidance system.

Page 4: 10concptcbe

Tool Bushings

Align tool with the piston.

Provide contact surfaces with tool.

Field replaceable for betterserviceability.

Page 5: 10concptcbe

Tool Retainer Pin Prevents tool from falling out.

Absorbs partial impact loads of idle strokes.

Transfers impact loads to front head on idle strokes.

Page 6: 10concptcbe

Thrust Ring

Positions tool for correctcontact with piston.

Absorbs shock loads fromtool.

Page 7: 10concptcbe

Tie Rod Assembly

Holds assembly together.

Absorbs partial impact loadsfrom idle strokes.

Assembled as a matched pair.

Page 8: 10concptcbe

Piston

Transfers hydraulic power into a shock wave transmitted thru the tool.

Page 9: 10concptcbe

Distributor Valve

Directs oil flow for piston movement.

Connects top of piston totank on upward stroke.

Connects top of piston toinlet pressure on downwardstroke.

Page 10: 10concptcbe

Pressure Adjusting Valve - PAV Supplies oil to the low pressurecircuit on start-up.

Assures a constant force in the Low pressure circuit.

Functions like a pressure reducing valve.

Accumulators

LP accumulator (top) Stores energy for the impact stroke. Transmits energy thru the low pressure circuit to the piston.

HP accumulator (back) Dampens pulsation in pressure line.

Prevents internal cavation.

Accumulator Nitrogen (N2) pre charge

Positions membrane for proper operation

Low pressure - pre charge Sets maximum energy output.

High pressure - pre charge Minimizes effects of pulsation on hydraulic system
