This eBook is dedicated primarily for students of the Interactive

Online degree programs at LIGS University, although it will be of

use to anyone who wishes to study online effectively.

The principal aim of this eBook is to provide students with tips

and recommendations on how to save time while studying

effectively.

This publication is based on the evaluation and feedback of our

students and graduates as well as on more than 10 years of

experience with online programs that our tutors and staff have.

Based on its recommendations, you will know what things to avoid

and what is important so that your online study is most beneficial

for you.

CHOOSE YOUR SPECIALIZATION AND ELECTIVE MODULE CAREFULLY

Your selection of the specialization and courses of the

elective module should reflect your main point of interest and

should be beneficial to your career development.

If you realize your interest shifted elsewhere during your

studies, it is possible to have the specialization or courses

changed. Our goal is to make your education most beneficial

for you.

PLAN YOUR STUDIES

You will need approximately one month to complete each

course. To plan your studies, you can use the sample

timetable available in your Student Information System (SIS).

You can also develop your schedule based on your free time

and planned date of graduation.

When you have satisfied all requirements, your program will be

completed. Remember, the length of your studies is entirely up

to you as each student studies at their own pace. Your

Student Advisor will contact you regularly to offer help if

needed.

START STUDYING IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENROLLING

You can effectively avoid stress if you start studying

immediately after entering one of our programs. Speaking

from my experience, and that of staff members and former

students, it is better to start studying right away, because any

delay increases not only the probability that you will not

complete your studies but will cause you to exert unnecessary

pressure on yourself.

In case you have difficulties keeping up with the pace, staff

and tutors at LIGS University will do everything they can to

help you.

WATCH ONLINE WEBINARS TO ENHANCE YOUR KNOWLEDGE

For the maximum efficiency and benefits of studying, we

recommend attending webinars (online seminars) that are

free for our students.

The themes are very diverse and include both topics that

complement your studies and provide information, which is

outside of your chosen specialization. You may participate in

all webinars that are of interest to you. While watching a

webinar, you can ask the tutor who is conducting it any

pertinent questions that you think of. Do not hesitate to

contact us with any suggestions so we can continue to

improve.

SELECTION OF SUITABLE ESSAY THEMES INCREASES THE PRACTICAL IMPACT OD STUDIES

For your essays, you can choose from various topics, but you

should select those that can bring you the knowledge that you

can use in your job. Ask your tutor, who is a professional in the

field, any questions you have. Your essay will then be more

beneficial, and you will gain a better understanding of the

issue.

Choose one of the topics for your final or dissertation thesis.

If you pick a topic that you currently deal with in your job, you

will significantly increase the practical impact of your studies.

Additionally, you will be able to consult with the individual

tutor. After you defend your thesis, you can decide to publish

it, or keep it accessible only within LIGS University.

STUDY CAREFULLY FOR EXAMS

During your studies, you have full access to publications in our

eLibrary. All publications are available in electronic form in

your Student Information System (SIS). For each exam, you

have three attempts during which you should be able to get

enough points to complete the test. Upon request, you may be

granted more attempts.

If you encounter a topic you need to explain or consult in more

detail while studying for the exam, do not hesitate to contact a

tutor. Contacts for all tutors can be found in the Student

Information System.

BE IN TOUCH WITH CLASSMATES

You can use chat rooms in the SIS to get in touch with

classmates to learn about their experiences and opinions that

can be useful not only for your studies but also for your job.

Besides creating a knowledge exchange, interaction with your

classmates will motivate you to take further steps in your

education, and you won't feel like you study alone.

CONSULT TUTORS

Consulting tutors, who are available to whatever extent you

need, increases the benefits and efficiency of your studies.

Use their professional and independent view on issues and

incorporate the results into practice. The more you consult

with our tutors, the more you will learn.

SAVE TIME BY USING THE STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM

Make use of all the materials, videos, electronic tools, and

wizards in your SIS. By actively using the student system, you

will have access to all the necessary information and

procedures.

Additionally, you have all your contacts in one place,

eliminating the need for you to search for them on your

computer. The SIS saves time and increases the efficiency of

your studies. For example, if you use a template prepared in

the SIS that is already formatted, you can save a lot of time

and effort when writing your essay or thesis. The time you

save will help you focus more on research.
