Retirement Is Bad For Your Health

A new UK study claims retirement is bad for your health and increases the likelihood ofdepression.

The Institute of Economic Affairs says people are retiring earlier but living longer. The think-tank used data collected from eleven European countries and says it found the adverseeffects of retirement increase with the more time someone is retired.

The study says retirement decreases the likelihood a person will assess their health as verygood or excellent by 39%. The probability of suffering from clinical depression increases 41%

with retirement, the study says.
