ALWAYS GIVE PRAISE AND THANKS TO

GOD!1 Thessalonians 5:18

Praise the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures for ever! (Psalms 106:1 RSV)

IT IS GOOD… A Psalm. A Song for

the Sabbath. It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to thy name, O Most High; to declare thy steadfast love in the morning, and thy faithfulness by night, (Psalms 92:1-2 RSV)

The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the LORD! May your hearts live for ever! All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD; and all the families of the nations shall worship before him. (Psalms 22:26-27 RSV)

EVERYTHING GIVE PRAISE…

Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his exceeding greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with timbrel and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that breathes praise the LORD! Praise the LORD! (Psalms 150:1-6 RSV)

GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING… Rejoice always, pray

constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 RSV)

How can I give thanks when bad things happen to me?

What if I do not feel like giving thanks or worship to God?

When we focus on the problem and not the promise then we won’t feel like giving thanks!

GIVE PRAISE AND THANKS TO GOD!

A Psalm for the thank offering. Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the lands! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD is God! It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him, bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures for ever, and his faithfulness to all generations. (Psalms 100:1-5 RSV)

REMINDERS WHY WE OUGHT ALWAYS GIVE THANKS:

1. We have been made in the image of God. Genesis 1:26,27 1 Peter 1:4 Hebrews 2:14,15

2. Jesus cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 Hebrews 4:15

3. Jesus is our justifier. Revelation 12:10 Romans 8:31-34

4. Jesus is our propitiation. 1 John 2:1 Romans 4:7,8

WE CAN PRAISE GOD IN SPITE OF OUR CIRCUMSTANCES!give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18 RSV)
