For my parents: for all of the never-ending
support and love you have shared with me all my
life. Going off the beaten path and trying
something new that is different from whateveryone else is doing is extremely difficult, but to
unconditionally support your son through this
journey is even more remarkable. Thank you for
having an open mind, for trusting me, and most of
all, for loving me.
For my sister: Ive always tried my best to make
you proud of me I hope Ive accomplished that.
For my grandparents: When I think about all of
the sacrifices the four of you made in your lives so
that I could have this amazing opportunity to
touch the lives of so many people, I am extremely
thankful. Sadly we didnt get to spend much time
together, but it was enough to fill my heart with
enough love to last my life!

The Day That Turns Your Life Around
It is said that only a very emotional or tragic event can help you find apurpose, a direction, to change your life. You may have heard the
phrase: only a breakdown can lead to a breakthrough.
For Jim Rohn, one of my mentors
and one of the greatest authors and
speakers on personal development,
that emotional event happened at
the age of 25. A little girl knocked on
his door and gave him a wonderful
presentation about the Girl Scout
Program and how she was selling
cookies to support it. She politely smiled and asked him if he would
like to purchase a box. He did not want to tell her that he was a 25
year old man and could not afford the $2 to buy a box of cookies, so
he did the only thing he could think of, he lied to that little girl and told
her he had already purchased some cookies earlier. She politely
thanked him for his time and for supporting the Girl Scouts Program
by purchasing cookies. He closed the door, and thought about what he
had just done. How low could he get, lying to a Girl Scout over $2.
That was the day that turned his life around.

For me, that moment happened during a trip back home, to India. I
was not born there, but the last time I was there was in the early 90s.
Reality hit me pretty hard. Homeless children, poverty, litter, and
illiteracy were all staring me right in the face. Here I was in my
Kenneth Cole shoes, designer Jeans, Nike shirt, Bulova watch, Eddie
Bauer sunglasses, and a backpack with a cell phone, MP3 player, and
laptop. I thought about all the times I would spend at a coffee shopdrinking lattes, while back in my home country children were singing
for spare change.
The truth was that I was just like Jim; I could not help them because I
did not have the money. As successful as I was back home, globally, I
had not done anything. The world, so far, was not better off having
had me in it, and that was a wakeup call for me. That was, the day
that changed my life.
Hopefully millions of you will read this eBook from digital cover to
digital cover. Some of you may skim it, give it a few minutes, and
never touch it again. Many may not even read it.
Of those who will indeed read it, there are three possible outcomes:
1. Those who wont do anything: Sadly, this will be themajority of the readers out there. They will find the concepts to
be powerful, but not enough for them to do anything about it or
they will get to it someday. These are also the kind of peoplewho take life one day at a time, see what happens, and let
things just play out. They may take notes, see how the
concepts could apply to their lives, and never truly focus on
doing anything about it.
2. Those who are too stubborn to do anything: There aresome people who feel their way of doing everything is the right
and only way of doing it. Anything contradicting their beliefs is
immediately rejected. They might read 100 concepts, find 1that goes against their personal philosophies, and reject the
other 99. My way or the highway.
3. Those who will read this, and practice it: Finally we havethose few people who will think about each concept with an
open mind, and then apply it to their lives. These are the people
who grab life by the horns, live life to its fullest, and seize the
day.

I hope you have an open mind and think about each of the concepts.
This is an introductory read to begin a transition in your life. It is
important that you know this book is what you make out of it; it will
be a different experience for everyone and will only be as powerful and
you let it be.
3 Reasons You Do Not Set GoalsOur first step in goal setting begins by looking at the reasons that
prevent us from setting goals in the first place. Since elementary
school we are told that we should be setting goals, both Long-Term
and Short-Term, but that is about the extent of the education the
majority of us will ever receive.
Setting goals is the #1 way of achieving prosperity, yet 90% of us do
not even set goals, or will set New Years resolutions that last for
about a month. So we have to wonder, if setting goals helps you
become successful, why not set them?
There are 3 main reasons one might justify in not setting goals. Lets
take a look at each of them:
1. You do not know how: What is a goal? What is a short-termgoal? How long is a long-term goal? How do you keep track of
your progress? Etc.
2. You are too lazy: You had to wake up early, work hard all day;you just want to come home and relax, maybe watch a little TV.
Who needs to set goals, it just means more work, right? Plus
your life is already good enough, right?
3. Your Subconscious will not let you (you are afraid): Myfavorite topic to write about, the subconscious. Your
subconscious, or your ego, does not want to be wrong and will
try to talk you out of it by saying: If I set this goal and I do notaccomplish it, we will not feel good about ourselves, so lets just
avoid it all together.
Now that you have a better idea about why you are not setting goals,
we can move forward. Lets now take a look at those who are
proactive and do set goals, but maybe area having some challenges in
achieving them.

6 Reasons That Your Goals May Not Be Working
For YouIt is fantastic that there are those out there who are proactive with
their lives and want to move forward. They set goals and work hard
towards them, but still face some challenges. Here are the top 6
reasons that settings goals may not be working for you:
1. Faith:If you decide to give it a try you will fail because goalsetting is not something you try, it is something that you have
to be dedicated to. This is perhaps the #1 reason why goal
setting will not work for you. You have to believe that you will
be able to achieve them. Take a few moments to visualize how
it will feel once you have accomplished them.
2. Patience: We live in a world of instant gratification where wewant everything yesterday. That is why diets are so popular, because we want quick results. Say your goal is to weigh 10
pounds less. We do not want to hear that it will take consistent
exercise, a regular healthy diet, and proper nutrition until it will
work, we want to hear that we will be able to fit into those old
jeans in a week. Goal setting works the same way. Sorry, no
overnight success here.
3. Truth: If your goal is to achieve an annual income of 1 milliondollars within a year, it certainly is possible, but not so much if
you are struggling to make $26,000 a year. Set goals that are
realistic and achievable within a respectable timeframe.
4. Effort: You want to be able to run a mile, but sitting in front ofyour couch all day eating candy bars and soda will not help you
get there. Your daily habits and actions should reflect your
goals, not contradict them.
5. Focus: Are your goals too generic? Perfect examples are thegoals we call New Years Resolutions. We all want to lose
weight, exercise more, stop smoking, but after a few weeks we
are back to our old habits. Sometimes the solution lies in
breaking down the goal, a step that most people never do. If
your goal is to stop smoking, then break it down into smaller
goals. Maybe you cut back a cigarette a week until your final
cigarette in April.

6. Opportunity: Having your own business, being your own boss, setting your own hours, being in control of your life is
something that we all dream of. A friend of yours has had some
success in Network Marketing and invites you to an opportunity
presentation, and without even giving it a thought, you politely
decline, letting an incredible chance to become an entrepreneur
slip away. The failure to recognize and take advantage of anopportunity is worse than trying the opportunity and failing.
If you have not had much success with goals you are setting, check to
see if one of these 6 reasons is holding you back from the prosperity
you deserve. Lets next look at how to set goals that you can be proud
of and can share with family and friends for support.
How to Set S.M.A.R.T. GoalsWhen I ask people what their goals are, about 80% do not have any
and about 20% just have a generic goal with no real desire to
accomplish it. Which of the following two New Years Resolutions do
you feel will get accomplished?
I want to exercise and lose weight thisyear. I would like to set myself on an exercise program of 3 days a
week, 30 minutes each day, and lose 5 pounds a month until I
reach my goal of 15 pounds, which should be in March.
It is obvious that the second one is more thought out and has a clean
organized plan that can be easily tracked. However, almost everyone
sets their goals like #1. I want to lose weight, I need to exercise,
I want to start reading more, I should set more goals, and I am
going to start eating healthier.
Do you see how these things, many of which I am certain you have
promised to yourself in the past, never get accomplished. It is great
that you want to start eating healthier, but there is a huge differencebetween a bodybuilder saying that and a couch potato says the same
thing.
This is where S.M.A.R.T. Goals come in. Ever since I started using this
technique, I have been able to increase my productivity tenfold.

Here are the 5 steps to setting S.M.A.R.T. Goals:
S = Specific- A goal must be very specific. A generalization of lose
weight or exercisewill not help you at all because it is too generic.
M = Measurable- A major reason that most goals do not get
accomplished is because they cannot be measured. If you want to lose
weight, that is great, but how much? If you say that you want to lose15 pounds in 3 months that can be measured very easily.
A = Attainable- If the greatest workout you get is going to the
mailbox, then the Olympics might be a little out of reach by next year.
By setting attainable goals and successfully achieving them, you will
start a momentum shift in your life. Take advantage of this
momentum and use it as a guide to help you build the courage and
confidence to take on even greater goals.
R = Risky-Now most people out there will say that the R in SMART
GOALS stands for realistic but that is pretty much the same as
attainable. I like to say it stands for Risky instead. Now we are
getting to the fun stuff. How risky is your goal? Is it in your comfort
zone where you feel safe? If you already walk 30 minutes a day and
want to set a goal of walking 35 minutes a day, is that really all that
risky? Goals should be set outside of your comfort zone, where it is
challenging and you feel nervous just thinking about it. It is only when
you set these goals that you will be able to expand your comfort zoneand move onto larger goals.
T = Timely- You know your goal, how to measure it, it is attainable,
and risky, now when do you want to do it by? Will it be 1 week, 1
month, or 1 year? Setup a realistic timetable. Remember, Rome was
not built in a day.
My goal is to organize and speak at a motivational seminar with 150
guests on Saturday, June 30th, 2012. This is very specific, measurable
(either I have 150 or I do not), it is attainable for my skill level; it isrisky for me because it is outside of my comfort zone, and I have a
specific date.
Now that you know how to set a S.M.A.R.T. Goal, go ahead and get to
work. If you would like, email me a copy ([email protected]) of
your goal and I will check up on you periodically to see how you are
doing. My only condition is that you do the same for me as well. We
can all use more positive support!

Write Your Goals Down Now!!!!Now that we know how to set goals, lets take a step back. Go back 5
years into the past. Think about your job, your car, your house, your
friends, your relationships, everything. If I was to ask you what you
want to accomplish in 5 years, what would you say? A better paying
job? Married? Get out of Debt?
Now, come back to the present, have you accomplished those goals? If
your answer begins with, Well then you have not! So, what can you
do to help you accomplish these goals?
1. WRITE THEM DOWN!!!!- What an amazingly important step, Icannot stress this one enough, yet VERY few people do it. On
average only 3% of you reading this will write down your goals.
When you write them down, you take ownership of the goals,
they are yours and you want to accomplish it. You also start to
see what is possible. You may have always wanted to go to
Hawaii, but daydreaming about it will not help you get warm
sand between your toes.
2. Review, review, review, review- Millionaires read their goalsonce a day Billionaires read their goals twice a day. Do you
see a pattern? Take a look at your goals first thing in the
morning, and make it the last thing you see before you go to
sleep. Always think about your goals. Writing them down andreviewing daily will move you into the top 3% of the population.
You will start to notice that all of a sudden you are getting and
doing the things that you have always wanted to do. Always
think about your goals and ask yourself this question, What am
I doing right now to accomplish my goals? If your goal is to
lose 5 pounds, yet you are at an all-you-can-eat buffet, well,
ask yourself the question again.
Before you go to sleep tonight, write down the date, and think about
where you want to be 5 years from now. What are your goals? Then
take out a sheet of paper, and write them down. You do not need to
prioritize them, but the fact that you simply wrote them down will help
you get closer to them then you ever have before. In 5 years you will
thank the past you for doing it!

What Will You Sacrifice For Your Dreams?A goal of mine in 2010 was to write my first eBook by the end of the
year. Well the date went from 12/31/10 to 1/1/11 and I still had not
written my book yet. Then today I received a text message from one
of my friends whom I had not had the chance to see for a while. He
invited me to spend the day with him at Pike Place Market in Seattle.
Seeing an old friend and spending the day in Seattle, normally I would
have jumped at that opportunity and we would have had a great time.
Then I thought about the unfinished book, and I had to turn him down.
I could have gone, and put my book aside one more day, and had a lot
of fun instead, but it is that kind of thinking that lead to the book not
being finished in the first place. One of my most important goals in my
eyes went unfinished because I would not sacrifice for it in the past,
and that is a mistake that I will not make again.
We all have goals, and for the majority of the people, they are set
around New Year and then not thought of again. A major reason so
few people are able to accomplish their dreams is because they never
sacrifice one part of their lives for those dreams. Here are some
examples of sacrifices in terms of goals:
GOAL: Lose Weight by enjoying sports and the outdoors, as
well as making healthy meals.
SACRIFICE: Replace TV time by preparing a healthy meal. Then reward yourself with a cheeseburger on Saturday
GOAL: Grow my network marketing business by enrolling 2
team members every month.
SACRIFICE: Dedicate 20 minutes a day to calling prospects
and coaching existing team one weekend a month.
GOAL: Fall in love and be in a successful committed
relationship.
SACRIFICE: Leave the house more often and find clubs,
volunteer opportunities, or even take some classes to meet new
people.
Do you see where I am going with this? If you want to change
something in your life, you need to make room for it. Most people will
say that they want to lose weight, yet their habits show otherwise.
People want to make more money, yet continue to spend $5 a day for
a latte.

So next time you have a goal that you want to accomplish, know that
it will require some sacrifice. But then again, if it is not worth a little
sacrifice, is it worth doing it in the first place?
Whats Next?
By now you are aware of the barriers that have prevented you fromsetting goals in the past, how to set yourself up with new ones, how to
start using them right away, and that a little bit of sacrifice is needed.
Like I mentioned earlier, there are those of you who will read this,
examine your life, and make those changes that will help you move
forward in life, while others will read it and not do anything, out of
fear. Fear of moving forward, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of
being uncomfortable, etc.
Your journey has just begun and it is important to keep this
momentum moving forward. I encourage you to go to my website,
