As I write my last PTSA President newsletter message, words cannot express the gratitude I have for the parents, teachers, staff, students and community members for their cooperative spirit, generosity, continuous support, dedication, and willingness to help strengthen our PTSA. Initiating change was our biggest challenge over the last two years. Our greatest obstacle was to improve the perceptions that parents had about our PTSA. We changed our internal structure to run our organization effectively. We changed the culture of our PTSA, focusing on helping our parents by infusing useful information into each meeting. We updated our internal records and procedures to become compliant with IRS, California PTA and other regulations. Our Officers and Committee Chairs bravely made creative, cost effective changes to our events and programs. The most important change of all is, together, we created a warm, inviting PTSA evidenced by new parents who are now active, engaged PTSA members. The future of our PTSA is bright and the incoming Executive Board led by Kim Dawson, our President-elect, is a very special group of parents and ACHS staff who will surely take our PTSA to the next level. I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with this team next year. I hope you will join us. What I lacked in PTSA leadership experience, I compensated by pouring love into everything I did and never losing sight of the goal to make our PTSA stronger for the future. As I waded through all the ebbs and flows, I have learned so much, have grown as a person and am better prepared to face life’s challenges. Thank you for giving me this wonderful, life- changing opportunity to serve as your PTSA President for the past two years. Have a wonderful, safe summer! Jane Kotake

Message from PTSA President

Greetings Scorpion Families! PTSA IN THE NEWS

Scorpion Highlights Page 6

The Class of 2016 held the 2nd annual Scorpion 9-Hole Shootout on April 17th at Sterling Hills Golf Club. It was a impressive success! Over 100 people attended the tournament/dinner, with Principal Glenn Lipman and teacher Scott Cline leading the way on the course! The event raised in excess of $15,000 for the class. Well done! Thank you to all who contributed their time, donations and talents. Much appreciation to all who attended and supported the event. Congratulations to 2016 Class President Bobby Stern and the class cabinet: Des Clancy, Shivani Govil, Ashley Fontanille & Steven Marin. A huge thank you to Lori Pristera, class of 2016 advisor. It was a true team effort - a wonderful example of the collaboration of students, parents, administra-tion, teachers, PTSA and community leaders. 2016 Class Cabinet members solicited donations from the community, met with sponsors and business leaders to pick up sponsorships, ran the program that even-ing and decorated the venue. Their hard work paid off. The students were able to gain important skills and knowledge while putting on a great event. Thank you the many parents who volunteered that week and that day....again, well done Class of 2016!

ACHS PTSA 24TH

Annual After Prom was held May 2nd

and was a huge success. Over 350

seniors and their guests attended the fun filled night and most importantly continued prom

night safely together. It takes a village to make this

event happen. From the anonymous 20 dollar bill sent by

mail to the hundreds of offers to lend a hand at yet

another task. This event shows the true spirit that is

found in our Camarillo community very generous people

willing to give of their time, effort and resources to

make a difference to our ACHS Families.

We wish to give a BIG THANK YOU! And acknowledge all

these wonderful ACHS Families, Camarillo and Ventura

County Businesses and Camarillo Community members

for their amazing support in keeping our students safe.

We Thank and Appreciate all that you do.

Welcome to the first step on the road to getting your driver license – driver education. You will be able to take this Internet based driver education course at your own pace and convenience. It must be completed within 61 days. A 30-day extension may be purchased, if necessary. The Referral Code above is unique to your school and PTSA will receive $25 for every student that registers. You will use this code once to register online, as described below, before you begin the course. Step 1 – Register on WelcomeDriver.com:

a) Go to http://www.welcomedriver.com and click on “Sign Up Now” under Students.

b) Enter your e-mail address and the Referral Code. Click start. c) Enter your personal information on the Registration Page. Please make sure that your e-mail

address (and that of your parent) is spelled correctly since your password (and other e-mails) will be sent there. This information is needed by the DMV for your completion certificate.

d) Click on the Register button at the bottom of the page. We will immediately generate a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you gave us which will include your login password. If you don’t get this e-mail within 5 minutes have your parents check their e-mail (in case your e-mail address was wrong).

Step 2 – Confirm your registration and login: The confirmation e-mail will contain your WelcomeDriver username (your e-mail address) and an automatically generated password. It will also contain a link to your account. When you login the first time you will be taken to Your Account page where you can change your password to something easier to remember. An e-mail will automatically be generated and sent to you reflecting any changes made to your account. Click the Home tab to continue. NOTE TO AOL USERS: Your Spam Blocker will not accept e-mail from WelcomeDriver. You must add

receive correspondence from us. Step 3 – Take The Course:

a) The Home page will show you all the lessons in the course, which are required and an indicator of your progress in the course.

b) To launch a lesson, click on the lesson name. First a pop-up window will appear (you need to turn off any pop-up blockers), then the main lesson window will appear in a new smaller browser window.

c) When you complete all required lessons and tests a certificate of completion will be mailed to you. This will take 10-12 business days. The certificate is sent by regular mail to the physical mail address on file.

Best of luck! If you run into any problems use the support form on the website to send an e-mail describing

your problem. For Technical Support Call 888-300-9263.
