Established in loving memory of Charles Edward Wisotsky, who was born May 15, 1942, and

who died February 23, 1963. He was a very special person who, because of a fatal car accident

that robbed him of his youth, never had the opportunity to achieve his lifelong dream of finishing

college. This award ensures that his dream will be fulfilled year after year. The scholarship will

be open to a student who will be completing his/her senior year in the upcoming academic year,

and is in need of financial assistance in order to continue his/her education. The student should

strong financial need. A student’s financial hardship is the major criteria in the selection process.

Rewarding Excellence Amongst College Honors (R.E.A.C.H.) Scholarship1,3 (ACNT 6411)



The women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity,

Inc. gave back to the college community in honor of the 2002 Return to OZ II Reunion. The first

award was given for the 2007–2008 academic year. Selection of the scholarship recipient will be

made by the R.E.A.C.H. Committee via the Oswego College Foundation. To qualify for this

The Robert Brian Ellis Memorial Scholarship, established by his parents, Robert and Victoria

(Lewis) Ellis (both Oswego alumni, class of 1969), honors the memory of a boy whose young

life was taken in an automobile accident. This award will be given to a student demonstrating

high academic accomplishment in one of the following majors or in secondary education with a

concentration in one of the following: mathematics, computer science, business administration,

and/or economics. To qualify for this award, a student must:

a. Be enrolled as a junior at the time of selection (completed 57–86 credits, including transfer

credits, by deadline)

b. Demonstrate outstanding achievement in major and/or concentration

c. Demonstrate a continuing commitment to the intellectual objectives of the particular discipline

This scholarship was established in memory of Thomas G. Cantine Jr, who was an active

amateur radio operator for over 50 years. This annual college scholarship may be awarded to one

or more licensed amateur radio operator(s) in the following New York state counties:

Oswego, Onondaga, Cayuga and Jefferson. Competition is open to undergraduate students

pursuing a career in electronics, engineering, communications, broadcasting, computer science,

Victoria Greenspan Memorial Award⁴ (ACNT 1194)

Established by her parents, the Victoria Greenspan Memorial Award for Cheerleading, is

dedicated to the memory of Victoria (d.1989), a member of SUNY Oswego’s cheerleading squad

in 1988. The recipient must possess qualities of enthusiasm, sincerity, service to others and the

willingness to try hard and give her best. All squad members are eligible. Members of the

cheerleading squad, in a secret ballot, select a recipient annually. In addition to the $200 award,

the recipient will have his/her name engraved on the Victoria Greenspan Memorial Award for

Cheerleading plaque, located in Laker Hall.
