Quality Assurance Tests of partner schools after every six months, 2/3rd students to get 40% marks

Criteria relaxed for 7 districts with most out of school children- 66% students to get 33% marks in entry test but required to reach 40% score in more difficult test in one year

QAT threshold being raised linked to incentives Financial assistance being linked to QAT results Administration of QAT outsourced to third parties Honoraria: for 5 teachers-Rs.10,000 per teacher- of

Continuous Professional Dev. of Teachers of FAS schools

Current annual cost: Rs. 2 million approx. per school -700 schools (275,000 students) in 15 districts; Expected to reach 1,000 schools and 500,000 students by year end. Cost of administering programme US$1.50 per child/yr.

Enrollment ceiling (based on capacity of infrastructure) with cap of 750 to provide equal opportunity to existing schools that failed to apply in time for FAS partnership. After next round ceiling to be withdrawn

• Private sector expanding fast but no institutional arrangement for continuous professional development of teachers in sector
