1.6 List of Investment Proposals for further development as part of a longer term investment plan

1.6.1 Infrastructure and Connectivity 1. Kettering East Development Access Pump-Priming – Infrastructure improvements necessary to unlock the Kettering East Development

which includes 5,200 homes and other development including employment land. Including the Weekly-Warkton Improvements and Eskdail Street/Queen Street improvements. There is also a need for a new junction to the east of junction 10 of the AI14 to support growth.

2. iCon2: To take advantage of the success of the iCon innovation centre to provide further capacity for business ‘grow on’ iCon is focused on sustainable construction and allied businesses, and couples incubation space, business support and links to academic research and conference facilities.

3. Daventry Waterspace and Boat lift: a) Generate large scale visitor activity with spin-off expenditure in the local and wider county areas. b) Provide a symbol of Northamptonshire which will be as identifiable as e.g. the ‘Angel of the North’ and thus help create identity and promote inward investment. c) Provide a focus for the development and regeneration of Daventry town centre, thereby supporting the large-scale growth planned for the town.

4. A509 Wellingborough Development Link (Phase 3 including Park Farm Way dualling): Directly related to development at Wellingborough. Scheme related to Phases 1 and 2 and to be progressed with the Wellingborough North development.

5. Towcester Relief Road: Directly related to the Towcester South proposal
