4 Parsons Close“When we decided to move to Parsons Close, we were already living in Grendon in a cottage and absolutely love the strong community this village has. We are finding it hard to imagine living anywhere else! We were looking for a home that was larger to accommodate our growing family and found the perfect property just round the corner. Every time you walk through the garden and step through the door, the house always feels welcoming. It is warm and a great setting to raise a family,” says Lucy.

“We have lived at the property for five years and it is a very practical home. It has a gated driveway secure for children and dogs and an ease of living when we’re in the property. Internally we have merged the influences of our original house, a Georgian cottage with this modern house. We have a beautiful home that provides ample space for parents, grandparents and children.”

“The open plan kitchen, dining room and living room is my favourite place to relax. It is the place where the family is brought together and is such a practical room. The house benefits from wonderful views to the front and rear and it is lovely and peaceful.”

“We have invested a lot of time in the garden. It is quiet and tranquil, full of blossom and birds. It is a brilliant play place for children to enjoy and it wraps around the house making it safe for young families and pets, you can constantly keep an eye on everyone whilst they play outside,” continues Marcus.

“The best way to describe this property’s location is central. My wife can easily drive to Oxford, Cambridge, London or Birmingham by car. Wellingborough train station is a short drive away with direct links into London St Pancras. I have been commuting for several years and can be in London in under an hour. The village also has plenty to offer. It has a pub, a village hall, and the local primary school which has been Ofsted rated outstanding and a top school in the county.”

“The community is friendly and welcoming and we have many friends in the vil-lage. I even started my own cricket club, which takes part in casual matches and is a great way for those who don’t want to join the divisional team to take part. There is bell ringing, book club and a safari supper, which sees villagers travel from house to house to sample different courses with a riotous conclusion in the village hall. There is race night, quiz night and an annual ball. If socialising is for you, you will never be bored in this generous and thriving village atmosphere.”

“This would be the perfect home for any family, recently young families have moved into Parsons Close making it a great location for children. We will be sad to have to leave the village as it holds so many happy memories for us all. We are moving as my wife has been promoted and needs to be closer to her office” concludes Marcus.*

4 Parsons Close is a detached family home constructed in the 1970’s and situated in a quiet cul-de-sac close to the village school and overlooking the village playing field. The present owners have carried out an extensive remodelling and refurbishment programme designed to create an interior offering spacious and stylish accommodation ideally suited to modern family living. Most notably, they have created a light and airy open plan living space comprising sitting room with stone fireplace and log burner, dining room and kitchen. The refitted kitchen area features modern contemporary styled kitchen cabinets including a sink stand by Fired Earth and a three oven electric AGA range cooker, which is complimented by a full range of integrated appliances. There is polished limestone flooring to all of the ground floor areas and double glazing throughout. The property was designed with a ground floor bedroom and shower room, but there is obvious flexibility for this room to be used as an office or family room. Upstairs are three spacious double bedrooms together with landing with window overlooking the playing fields and well fitted family bathroom.

Outside, the original double garage has been divided so that it provides a useful store to the front and to the rear, an office with personal door and window to the rear garden. This division has been carefully designed so that if preferred it can be easily returned to a garage. There are double five bar gates providing secure off road parking, with landscaped gardens to both front and to the private and tranquil west facing rear.

Accommodation

Ground Floor

The property is accessed via double glazed door with additional panels to both sides. The spacious entrance hall has open tread stairs rising to first floor accommodation and doors to the sitting area, ground floor fourth bedroom and shower room which is fitted in a contemporary style with W.C washbasin and corner shower. The principal living space to the property is the superb open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The sitting area has windows to the front and features a stone built fireplace with log burner. The dining area has sliding double glazed doors which open onto the sun terrace and as with all of the ground floor, polished limestone flooring. The kitchen has been fitted in a range of contemporary styled floor to ceiling cabinets with integrated appliances comprising twin fridge freezers, microwave and coffee maker. There is an additional Fired Earth cabinet with granite work surface incorporating a double under slung sink and built-in dishwasher. The focal point of the room is the four oven electric AGA with warming plate and there is also a full width window overlooking the garden. The useful separate utility has central heating boiler, plumbing for washing machine and condenser dryer and Belfast sink with extendable mixer hose. The ground floor double bedroom has window to the front and side elevation and fitted cupboards, with views to the church. Whilst this room is currently used as a bedroom it could easily be used as a further reception room.

First Floor

On the first floor the landing provides access to all first floor rooms. There is a large fitted cupboard and wardrobes with windows overlooking the front garden, playing field and countryside beyond. The principal bedroom has painted wooden floors, window overlooking the rear garden with views through the trees to countryside beyond the village boundary. There are two further double bedrooms each with painted wooden flooring and windows to the rear and well fitted family bathroom with W.C, panelled bath with mixer shower and washbasin with cupboards below.

Office and Store

The original double garage has been divided so that it provides a useful store to the front and to the rear an office with personal door and window to the rear garden. This division has been carefully designed so that if preferred it can be easily returned to a garage.

Outside

To the front of the property is secure parking behind double five bar gates. There is post and rail fencing with a gate providing pedestrian access to a path which leads to the front door and down one side of the property to the rear. The front garden has been planted with a number of trees, together with squares of further planted areas enclosed by low level post and rails.

The attractive and extremely private rear garden has been designed to recreate a peaceful forest glade. There is a central lawned area and a number of mature trees, with well planted shrub borders framed by hedging. A water feature has been created from a metal feeding trough and at one end of the garden is a brick paved sun terrace, ideal for alfresco dining and there is useful covered storage area behind the office as well as further space and shed to the side.
