The ultimate purpose of the Army is to fight and win the nations wars If we are going to win wars, we must develop Warrior Leaders who are:

Warrior Ethos refers to… The professional attitudes and beliefs that characterize the American Soldier
It echoes through the precepts of the Code of Conduct and reflects a Soldier’s Selfless commitment to the Nation, mission, unit and fellow Soldiers
The Warrior Ethos was developed and sustained through discipline, commitment to the Army Values, and the pride in the Army’s heritage

Soldier’s CreedI am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and
