IntroductionINTRODUCTION: WHAT IS THE INDIGENOUS LEGENDS SCHOLARSHIP?Yoobee Colleges is proud to introduce the Indigenous Legends Scholarship, the scholarship hopefully will help to promote more Maori and Pasifika to pursue a career in the Creative Industry be it as a Graphic Designer, Animator, Game Developer or any of the roles that the industry offers.

All Yoobee Colleges will be offering one (1) scholarship per intake.

PURPOSEThe Indigenous Legends Scholarship is a premier Maori and Pasifika scholarship, that supports high achieving Maori and Pasifika people that are looking at starting a career in the Creative Industries. It enables recipients to excel and is for those with strengths in these three key pillars:

1. Strong attachment to their culture2. High academic achievement3. Passion to create/design

Recipients will be supported during their studies with industry trained tutors as well as extensive support staff that have a lot of experience in their respective fields.

ELIGIBILITYTo be eligible for the Indigenous Legends Scholarship applicants must first meet all of the following requirements.

1. Be of Maori or Pasifika descent2. Be over the age of 163. Be a New Zealand citizen

The Selection Panel will also take into account the applicant’s willingness and ability to fully participate in, and contribute to, the Indigenous Legends programme.

SO WHAT SHOULD I CREATE?We invite you to create for us a submission that has a traditional cultural element.

Your job is to think outside the square and submit a design, animation (hand drawn or digital), short video or series of photographs.

Your submission must contain traditional cultural elements.

The scholarship entitles the winner to a fully-paid scholarship and entrance into a programme offered by Yoobee Colleges – a full year of tertiary study, INCLUDING course-related costs.

The scholarship cannot be redeemed for cash or transferred to another person. Should the winners be eligible for their first year fee under the FEES FREE policy, the scholarship will transfer to cover the second year of study at Yoobee Colleges.

* A parental/guardian signature is required for all students who are under 18 years of age at the time of their enrolment and for any subsequent withdrawal from that enrolment. Parental/guardian consent remains in place for the duration of the academic year of that enrolment for which the student was under 18 years of age at the time of completing the enrolment form. It does not apply to subsequent years or to new enrolments, unless the student continues to be under 18 years of age. This enrolment form creates a contract between the student and Yoobee Colleges Limited. DECLARATION

TERMS AND CONDITIONSSubject to any provisions applying to a specific Yoobee Colleges Entrance Scholarship (as set out on the relevant scholarship website) and subject to provisions contained in the letter of offer, the following general terms and conditions apply to each Yoobee Colleges Entrance Scholarship:

1. A scholarship application must normally have been received by the Yoobee Colleges by the due date.

2. Scholarships are normally for first-time at tertiary-level study, and first year of full-time (0.5 or more EFTS).

3. Payments of one year scholarships are normally made in Semester 1 as a payment for College fees.

4. Payments of one year scholarships for recipients who commence their full-time study at the Yoobee Colleges in a program of more than one year, the scholarship only covers the first year of tuition.

5. The Scholarship will usually be taken up in the year for which it is awarded, or for the years awarded for scholarships with a tenure of more than one year. However students may apply in writing to the Campus Manager, for permission to defer the scholarship for up to one year, specifically if the student is eligible for FEES FREE in first year of study.

6. Subject to the following, a Yoobee Colleges Entrance Scholarship may not be held concurrently with another Yoobee Colleges Scholarship, such as recipients of the Light & Dark Scholarship.

7. Verification of eligibility for the Indigenous Legends Maori & Pasifika Scholarships will be required prior to payment of the scholarship.

8. In order to receive the benefit of a Scholarship, recipients must have obtained entrance to the Yoobee Colleges and admission to a Certificate or Diploma Level programme at the Yoobee Colleges.

9. Recipients agree to reasonable requests from the Yoobee Colleges to appropriately represent the Tertiary and the scholarship.

10. Recipients of the Yoobee Indigenous Legends Maori & Pasifika Scholarships are required to communicate with the Manager, in each year of tenure, reporting any performance activities.

11. The Yoobee Colleges may, at any time, suspend or terminate the scholarship, or require the forfeiture of such proportion of the scholarship as the Yoobee Colleges may determine, if it is not satisfied that the recipient is not enrolled and studying full-time, full-year, and diligently pursuing a full-time, full-year programme or if the recipient has brought the Yoobee Colleges into disrepute.

12. Upon the termination of a student’s enrolment for any reason, his or her withdrawal, or stopping study, entitlement to scholarship funding shall be cancelled. In such circumstances, the Tertiary may also require repayment (in part or full) of any scholarship payments already made.

13. The receipt of a Scholarship will be noted on the recipient’s Yoobee Colleges academic transcript. The recipient agrees to their award of a Scholarship being noted in the annual Tertiary Prize and Scholarship booklet and being disclosed within the Tertiary and to third parties for purposes reasonably connected with the Scholarship.

14. Any variation or exemption of these Terms and Conditions must be approved by the Campus Manager and Management or nominee.
