Latest DfE information

• The existing primary curriculum will continue to be in force in 20011.12 DfE will not proceed with new Curriculum

• Languages remain an entitlement from 2010 in primary

• Schools should continue to use existing key Stage 3 level descriptors not the new ones

• Languages Diploma stopped

• Schools can offer iGCSEs : www.dcsf.gov.uk/section 96

• the re-designation grant of 25K removed

Changes to Programme

• The White Paper, Your child, your schools, our future: building a 21st century schools system, signalled important changes to the programme

• Arrangements for designation and redesignation suspended from September 2009

• Current funding arrangements for specialist schools will continue

• Ofsted inspection will no longer trigger redesignation

• BUT Ofsted inspection will continue to inspect specialism and make a statement about its impact within report

• If a school still does not meet the requirements after its probation year it may be de-designated

HPSS• Existing HPSS will retain their funding until their next

redesignation (3 years after their last point of redesignation)
