On watching Jim Carrey's new comedy Yes Man released
worldwide this Christmas, it seems that at last
someone has made a film about what Osho has been
telling us all along - say yes to life. Instead of renouncing life,
Osho's message is to celebrate life. In other words, move from
life negative to life positive. Yes is such a major message of Osho
that his lovers create a beautiful song for him in the 1970s that
went, 'Yes bhagwan yes'.
This is what makes Osho so unique and revolutionary.
The best part of the film Yes Man was the key role of 'a guru'
played by a veteran British actor Terence Stamp who plays his
role with ease. In fact, nonchalantly. No wonder, he is a former
disciple of Osho who lived in the Pune Ashram in the 1970s as
Swami Deva Veetan. His conversation with Osho and photos are

published in a Darshan Diary. His
website and his biography on
Wikipedia both mention that he
spent several years at an ashram in
Pune dropping off from society and
left when he was contacted for a
major role in a film. Stamp is an
Academy Award-nominated
English actor. He is best known
for having played the character
General Zod in the film Superman.
'Yes Man' has topped US box
office collections over the
Christmas week as film fans said
'Yes' to this movie despite the
snowbound and freezing weather
in many states.
Carrey plays a guy whose life is
going nowhere until he signs up for
a self-help programme based on
one simple covenant: say “yes” to
everything...and anything. Stamp is
very powerful in convincing
everyone, including Carrey
Unleashing the power of 'Yes'
begins to transform his life in
amazing and unexpected ways,
getting him promoted at work and
opening the door to a new romance.
But his willingness to embrace
every opportunity might just
become too much of a good thing.
…as he gets into many hilarious
scrapes.
The final adventure is not funny
when he is questioned by FBI. Then
he learns to say No to balance his
unconditional Yes. Osho says,
“Accept your No, accept your Yes.
And don't think that they are
opposites; they are not.
Just as there can be no courage
without danger, so there can be no
faith without uncertainty, without
doubt. Risk is part of the game that
we are born to play.
We must learn to lean on
possibilities -- not on certainties but
on possibilities. I can only say to
you God is possible. I can only say
to you Yes is possible. Lean on the
possibilities, don't ask for
certainties.”
Go and watch this film for a
laugh! No... Maybe? Yes!
