Bystoringdataona80gigabyteharddisk,thenewheadunitprovidesmanynewfunctionsandoptions.
TheaudiosystemswithCICaddedamusiccollectionfunction.Musicfilescanbeconverted(ripped)orcopiedforthemusiccollectionontheharddisc.Fastaccesstothesemusicfiles,storedontheCIC-dedicatedharddisc,isensuredatalltimes.Aselectionofupto3700musicfiles(12gigabytes)ispossible.
Thetuners/decodersofthedigitalradiosystems,(IBOC)digitaltunerandsatellitetuner(SDARS)arenowintegratedintotheCIC.
Amodifiedbaseplateadapterextendstheconnectivityofthemusicplayer(option6NF).Thismakesitpossibletoconnecttoandplaybackmusictracksinthemobilephone.

ThespeakersystemsintheF10areofferedintwolevels:
HiFisystem=HiFiloudspeakersystem(standardequipment) TopHiFisystem=HiFisystemProfessional(option677).
TheHiFisystemstandardequipmentonallF10models.
TheHiFisystemisequippedwithaneightchannelamplifierwithdigitalequalizer.However,onlysevenoftheeightchannelsareusedintheHiFisystem.
Thebassspeakersarelocatedunderthefrontseats.Theyarecoupledtothesidesillstoincreasestheresonancevolumenecessaryforbassreproduction.
Thehead-unitsCICandChamp2canbecombinedwithanyoftheamplifier/speakersystemsavailable.
TheHiFisystemandTop-HiFisystemsfeatureseparatespeakersforthetrebleandmid-rangefrequencies.
EventhoughthediametersofthespeakersintheHiFiandTopHiFiSystemProfessionalarethesame,therearedifferencesintheperformanceofthespeakers.Thisisachievedbytheuseofdifferentmaterialsforthediaphragms,coilsandmagnets.
TheTopHiFisystemsupportsplaybackofmultichannelformats.MultichannelaudioformatscanbeplayedbackwiththeplayerintheCICorwiththe6xDVDchanger.
TheHiFisystemhastwelvespeakerswhiletheTop-HiFisystemhas16speakerseachwithdifferentauxiliaryamplifiers.

ExternaldevicescanbeconnectedviathetwoAVinputsdirectlytotheRSEcontrolunitorviatheAUXInconnectionortheUSBaudiointerface(option6FL)inthecenterconsole.TheUSBaudiointerfaceprovidesanadditionaljackandaUSBconnectionforatypeAUSBconnector.
VideocannotbetransmittedtotherearseatentertainmentsystemwhenaDVDisplayedbackviatheCarInformationComputer.Similarly,videoisnottransmittedtotheCarInformationComputerwhenaDVDisplayedbackintherearseatentertainmentcontrolunit.Soundoutput,however,ispossibleinbothcases.PictureandsoundaretransmittedtotheCICandtherearseatentertainmentsystemduringplaybackviatheDVDchanger.Forsafetyreasons,nopictureisshownintheCentralInformationDisplaywhilethevehicleisbeingdriven.Soundoutputcontinuesevenwhenthecarisnotatastandstill.
