[01] COMICDOM Athens 2017 AKTO was “present” at the greatest Greek Comics festival, CΟΜΙCDOM Athens 2017, with multiple activities. The festival took place on the 7,8 and 9 April, at the Hellenic-American Union and the French Institute, with international guests and important exhibitions. George Botsos and Thanassis Petrou, tutors of AKTO, stood out with two workshops, while the festival offered a special experience for comic lovers, with many visitors and a variety of events. [02] ΑΚΤΟ @ Get into Games AKTO participated at the INNOVATHENS initiative for Gaming in education “Get into Games_GiG → Edu” that took place (22 & 23 /04) at the Technopolis of the municipality of Athens. The participants were tutors Dimitrios Patrikios and Costas lazaropoulos as well as the Programme leader of the Αnimation & Interactive Media programme Anastasia Dimitra, who presented an innovative project on special education for skills development for children with special needs. [03] “Fleeting sight to the city” The opening of the Photography exhibition “Fleeting sight to the city” took place on the 05/04. Daily images from a large city (as the one we live in), moments that seem less important in the flow of time and would be unnoticed without the capture of AKTOs young photographers, were presented to the public. tutors of AKTO, stood out with two workshops, while the festival

offered a special experience for comic lovers, with many visitors

and a variety of events.

[04] New Designers Awards 2017 Our Graphic Design students won 19 awards at the New

Designers Awards (21-30 years of age) organized for the fourth

consecutive year by the Gr Design magazine, under the hospices

of the Graphic Designers Association of Greece. The award

ceremony took place at the Benaki museum. Honored guest at

the event was Agni Katzouraki, who was given the award for

concept development and professional ethos.

[05] Doodling Αrt competition Secrets & tips for doodling were shared by our students and

the doodle experts Manoli RTMone and Νadia Stasinou at

the workshop that took place in context with the international

competition “Red Bull Doodle Art”. An exhibition also took place

at the Athens Artower, at the historical center of Athens, with

the top 20 doodles of the competition, where five AKTO students

participated.

[06] “Interstellar” VFX Film ProductionAKTO organized an Animation Master Class via Skype, by the

internationally recognized Special Effects creator Christos

Parliaros, for our students on the 4th of April at our amphitheater.

A VFX film production (Interstellar), its interim stages, from

start to submission and playlist videos were analysed and the

requirements of each shot were discussed. Christos Parliaros

lives and works in New Zealand as a Senior Effects Technical

Director for Weta Digital, perhaps the top company for visual

effects for films internationally.
