• Your specific drug plan may not be offered in 2011 due to plan cuts and the remaining plans may have higher premiums.

• People enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans can no longer switch to other Medicare Advantage plans during Jan., Feb. and March.

• After Jan. 1, Advantage plan enrollees still have the option to go back to original Medicare.• New in 2011 is a 50% discount on formulary’s brand-name drugs for those who land in the

program’s coverage gap.• Plans pay 7% of the cost for generic drugs that are in the gap, if they are on the plan’s formulary in 2011.• Check to ensure your medications are still covered at websites such as www.PlanPrescriber.com

which can also help to project costs.• Check drug limitations in your plan as some may require prior authorization, have quantity

limitations or require step therapy before they are covered.• Because many plans change cost and drug coverage annually, what worked last year could cost you

more money this year.• You can get help through Tennessee’s State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) by calling

(877) 801-0044.• Just because your premiums haven’t gone up doesn’t mean that

you are getting the same plan for the same price next year.• Check to see if your pharmacy is covered under the plan you choose.

Ten Facts about the Knoxville Nativity Pageant, Inc.

1. The Nativity Pageant of Knoxville, Inc. was formed in 1969 after a group of Knoxville citizens were inspired by a similar pageant in Marshall, NC.

2. The purpose is to present the historical Christmas story by way of a narrated pantomime drama, given publicly, without charge during the Christmas season.

3. The work of the Pageant is carried out by a twenty to thirty member volunteer Board of Directors.

4. The Pageant has ten professional directors – music, orchestra, technical, drama, and set design with several assistant directors.

5. Members of community clubs made the fi rst costumes for the pageant and more recently, members of the University of Tennessee Theatre Department have donated their time and talents for set and costume design and construction.

6. Volunteers from the community make up the hundred plus member cast as well as the nearly two hundred voice choir.

7. Local farms lend the live animals that are used in the pageant.8. Since this is a free event, the annual budget is met by

contributions from interested businesses, civic clubs, and individuals in and around the Knoxville area.

9. It is an hour-long presentation of the Christmas story.10. The average annual attendance has been 15,000.

In-Home Care Lessens Holiday StressWith the busy holiday season in full swing, caring for a loved one may become overwhelming at some point. You may be busy planning the holiday meal and completing shopping lists not to mention your everyday life responsibilities. It is oft en hard to fi nd the time to slow down and actually enjoy the Christmas

season. If this all sounds too familiar, maybe you should consider in-home care.

While your loved one may not be dependent on someone, it may be a good opportunity to introduce an independent living company. It is much easier to accept

the need for help as it develops instead of waiting until it becomes a necessity for everyday living.

With in-home care you can depend on qualifi ed and compassionate individuals that are dedicated to the needs of your loved one. Th ey sometimes off er care with no minimum hour requirement. What does this mean? Spoken simply, you can do shopping, dinner planning or other errands that require leaving your loved one without committing to daily, weekly or long-term care. Or maybe you just need an extra set of caring hands around to help out during these stressful times.

Knowing that your loved one is with someone who genuinely cares will help you have piece of mind when you have the need to leave them at home.

Also, remember easing your stress during this busy season, will in turn lighten the stress of everyone around you helping to make the holidays more enjoyable. You may even fi nd that you and your loved one actually enjoy the extra help and company.
