Muon Detector Status (week 9: Feb 23rd Feb 27th)

Present: Ale, Thomas, Nikolai, Oleg, Sasha, Maria Luisa, Perluigi, Giovanni P., Wander, Messi, Dane’, Marco, Santoni, Landi, Murtas

• M1R4 chamber installation continued on A and C front sides: 31 chambers installed last week!!!

• Alignment of close supports on back A and C sides completed ready to install chambers here also

• M1C central part cable rearrangement completed – back sides missing

• Chamber testing has started – see Fernando presentation

• Measured the position of the top alignment bars

• HV cables connected to CAEN PS and tested successfully

• A side closed Friday afternoon for two weeks for CALO works

• Continued timing test on M2-M5, 23 more channels recovered, 250 to go (1.5% of the total)

Muon Detector Plans (week 10: Mar 2nd Mar 6th)

Present: Burkhard, Ale, Thomas, Nikolai, Oleg, Sasha, Francesco, Fernando, Maria Luisa, Landi, Santoni, Stas, Messi

• Continue installing R4 (+ some R3) chambers on C front (today) and back (from tomorrow)

• Proposal to postpone the removal of the top of the structure on C-side beginning next week:– Recover ½ day delay accumulated last week caused by lift problems– Optimal use of manpower this week

• Continue test on A and C sides– Debug problematic chambers– Start connectivity test– Start connecting chambers to gas system, now in open mode for this reason

• M1 CAEN HV testing (with cables) on C side

• GEM gas system leak test at 5 mbar

• Continue M2-M5 timing tests
