  • 3.1 IBBSAs an auxiliary product for Huawei outdoor BTSs, the Integrated Backup Battery System (IBBS)provides backup power to meet the requirements for fast network deployment.The IBBS provides power and backup power for the BTS3012AE in following modes:l Providing +24 V and 48 V power for a single cabinet or two cabinetsl Housing batteries of different capabilities:

    A maximum of 12 batteries of 2 V 800 Ah or 2 V 650 AH, three batteries in one groupand four groups in the IBBS cabinet A maximum of 16 batteries of 12 V 100 AH or 12 V 150 AH, four batteries in one group

    and four groups in the IBBS cabinetl Supporting serial or parallel connection between batteriesFor details about the functions and installation methods of the IBBS, refer to the IBBS UserGuide.

    3.2 EMUAThis topic describes the EMUA. The Environment Monitoring Unit (EMUA) monitors theenvironment variables in a cabinet and processes alarms.

    FunctionsThe EMUA connects with the main equipment through the alarm cables. It monitors theenvironment variables in a cabinet and processes alarms. For details, refer to the EMUA UserGuide.

    3.3 Interface BoxesInterface boxes are the transmission interface box and the power interface box.

    3.3.1 Transmission Interface BoxThe transmission interface box interfaces the transmission equipment prepared by the operatorwith the BTS equipment supplied by Huawei. Huawei provides the following two types oftransmission interface boxes: 75-ohm transmission interface box and 120-ohm transmissioninterface box.3.3.2 Power Interface BoxThe power interface box interfaces the power distribution equipment prepared by the operatorwith the BTS equipment supplied by Huawei. Huawei provides the following two types of powerinterface boxes: 220 V power interface box and 110 V power interface box.

    3.3.1 Transmission Interface BoxThe transmission interface box interfaces the transmission equipment prepared by the operatorwith the BTS equipment supplied by Huawei. Huawei provides the following two types oftransmission interface boxes: 75-ohm transmission interface box and 120-ohm transmissioninterface box.

  • DimensionsThe 75-ohm transmission interface box and the 120-ohm transmission interface box have thesame dimensions: 420 mm (L) 378 mm (W) 125 mm (H).

    WeightThe weight of the transmission interface box is 4.92 kg by default before delivery.

    Components of the Transmission Interface BoxThe 75-ohm transmission interface box under full configuration consists of the following parts:a housing, a 75-ohm digital unit, a grounding busbar, and 12-core fusion parts. Figure 3-1 showsthe internal structure of the box.

    The 120-ohm transmission interface box in full configuration consists of a housing, a 120-ohmdigital unit, a grounding bar, and a 12-fiber splice assembly. Figure 3-2 shows the internalstructure of the box.

    The 12-fiber splice assembly consists of a 12-core fiber splice tray, an optical distribution frame,a fiber coiler, and a fiber stripping unit. Figure 3-3 shows these parts.

    The internal parts of the transmission interface box are all assembled by default before delivery.

    3.3.2 Power Interface BoxThe power interface box interfaces the power distribution equipment prepared by the operatorwith the BTS equipment supplied by Huawei. Huawei provides the following two types of powerinterface boxes: 220 V power interface box and 110 V power interface box.

  • DimensionsThe dimensions of the power interface box are 420 mm x 378 mm x 125 mm (length x width xheight).

    WeightThe weight of the power interface box is 9.8 kg by default before delivery.

    ComponentsThe power interface box in full configuration consists of a housing, a Miniature Circuit Breaker(MCB) of the mains supply, generator components (optional, including the generator MCB andthe MCB interlocking kit), and I/O cable terminal bars. Figure 3-4 shows the internal structureof the power interface box in full configuration.

    NOTE

    The MCB interlocking kit guarantees that only one of the MCBs remains in the closed state at a time.

    The 110 V AC power interface box and the 220 V AC power interface box have the samecomponents, but they are different in MCB specifications.
