Reason and Prerequisites

Solution

The columns are set as "not ready-for-input" in the planning layout. When you use Excel this is not indicated with a color and you cannot deactive the cells, as you can in the normal planning screen. At the most an Excel dialog box is displayed in which you are requested to unprotect the sheet by choosing "Tools -> Protection" in the Excel menu. With this function you can make all Excel cells ready-for-input. When saving the R/3 data, however, the actual ready-for-input status from the layout is decisive. This results in the irritating symptom. Call the transaction for changing the layout (for example KP66, KP76, KP86). Set the cursor onto the respective column header and choose menu "Formatting -> Ready for input y/n". The data field under the column header should now be displayed brighter. After you made all relevant columns ready for input, you can use the planning transaction.
