Founded in 1999 The Cast Stone Company Ltd is a leading supplier tothe building industry, with 2 working directors taking their knowledgeand professionalism from years within the cast stone industry.

The Cast Stone Company Ltd offers a full design service with joiners capable of making the most intricatemoulds, whether refurbishing a period house or concentrating on new build we have the capability to satisfy each and every customers needs.

With expansion recently completed at our Halifax works, we can take on the projects of major housebuilders and contractors. Irrelevant how large or small we are confident you will receive the very best inproduct and service when placing an order with The Cast Stone Company.

We currently have several representatives operating throughout England and many agents promoting ourproducts who are ready to visit you to discuss your requirements. We can provide our customers with asample board to choose your shade along with our technical manual. Don’t be alarmed if yourrequirements are not found within our brochure, we will give 100% into making either new moulds oradapting moulds to suit your needs.

SPECIFICATION SHEET

Technical DataThe Cast Stone Company products comply with the compressive strength specification as quoted in BS1217:2008 Complies with the C.A.T water absorption test criteria. Reinforcement is for handling purposes only.Monolithic casting and pressing in process to BS1217: 2008.Dimensional tolerances in accordance with BS1217: 2008Naturally occurring raw materials are carefully batched to proven prescribed mix designs. Reinforcement where applicable conforms to BS4449 and / or BS4483: 2005cut and bent to BS EN ISO 4066:2000 / BS 8666:2000.Cementitious binders comply with BS EN 197-1:2000.

Fixing, design and cast stone detailing service available on request.

Special colours available on request.

EfflorescenceA common problem with all cementitious products. This is a temporary phenomenon causinga whitening of the surface of the stone but does not constitute a performance strength ordurability problem. In line with normal weathering the efflorescence will disappear with time.

Structural InformationThe Cast Stone Company products are decorative items only and are not in any way to beused as structural supporting units. A steel lintel should be used to support all items that arespanning an opening. We always recommended that a structural engineer assess each caseand specifies a suitable support system.

Bedding InformationThe bedding of all cast stone units should be in accordance with the Masonry Codes ofPractice BS 5628.

Cleaning of Cast Stone UnitsNo attempt should be made to clean cast stone units without prior advice as this may lead topermanent and irreparable damage.

Wet cast is used in many of the same situationsas semi dry, however it is a more suitableproduct for commercial and structural purposehaving the ability to be a load bearing unitthrough use of reinforcement and mesh. Idealprojects are supermarkets, costal projects anddrive through beams, slabs and othersimiliar projects.

GRP GLASS REINFORCED PLASTIC

This product is usu ally used to replace timberaspects of external house-building work. It canreplace products such as dormer windows,window canopies, dovecotes, detailed corniceand dentil work. It’s maintenance free,mechanically fixed, lightweight and can beproduced in a wide range of colours to suit anyrequirements to match semi dry already on theproperty. Products such as dormers can be insulated withfoam or encapsulated timber studding whichenables the builder to self insulate and fixinternal linings.

It isbecoming ever more popular with the new sitelifting laws as it’s light weight and versatile.
