accessible advice services for asylum seekers, refugees and other migrants at a local level.
The withdrawal of funding by the Legal Services Commission (LSC) for community legal advice has further restricted the availability of local sources of advice in the immigration/ asylum area
NRC Hull (ARKH) has witnessed a sharp increase in demand for immigration advice at level 1 and 2 particular in the last 18 months.
NRC Hull (ARKH) needs to maintain and develop our professional standards as an advice provider and increase our capacity to take on both OISC level 1 and level 2 casework.

Intermediate Tasks
To provide generalist advice relating to housing, benefits and employment. To manage personal data in accordance with the standards required by the Code
and Rules of the Office of Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC), the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
To assist the Projects Manager to maintain, administrate and update an electronic Case Management Database.

network meetings. To make appropriate referrals to external agencies. To work with volunteer interpreters and the Projects Manager to ensure that
interpretation is available in the languages most commonly used by service users. To report on advice/ casework activity on both a qualitative and quantitative basis
as required by the Projects Manager and the Board. To work with volunteer interpreters and the Projects Manager to ensure that
service users’ rules of behaviour and conduct are enforced within ARKH.

Report. To support service user feedback mechanisms and gather/ present feedback in

events and conferences in accordance with personal/organizational needs identified through supervision with the Projects Manager.

To provide advice and casework up to and including OISC level 2 and in accordance with OISC standards of client care. This might include (but not be limited to) asylum, human rights, concessionary and discretionary applications, Case Resolution/Legacy Cases and Active Review, drafting client statements (including asylum statements), submitting One-Stop Notices, lodging notices of appeal and statements of additional grounds, applications for temporary admission and Chief Immigration Officers bail and family reunion applications.
To support existing staff to organise and run advice services within ARKH. To provide low level supervision to volunteer drop-in staff as required by the
Projects Manager.
