Speech bubble activity – What are these characters thinking?

Example

By my calculations, I can grow my herd from 400 to 10,000 over the next five years, which will make

me the richest and most powerful man in the district!

Golly, this is hard work! But it’s all part of building a better life here in Australia, and I’m going

to make the most of it. In Ireland we were hungry, but here we

eat meat every day!

I wish I could go back to my people and live on the land like my ancestors, but most of my people and our way of life are

gone thanks to all of this farming …
