Intermediate Ceramics Schreffler TEAPOTS Objective – To create a unique teapot using any of the following techniques: pinching, coiling, slab, sgraffito, additive method, subtractive method, piercing, or drape molding. Procedures – After viewing the powerpoint and teapot examples, come up with three innovative ideas for your project. Will it be abstract, have intricate detail, or look like a specific object? Next, complete three thumbnail sketches, complete with details and dimensions. Think of how you will construct your designs and be ready to explain. What methods will you use? This project will involve some in-depth problem solving! Finally, show your sketches to your teacher and explain your designs. Once a design is approved, you may begin working. Requirements – Your teapot must: a. Be at least 4 inches in height b. Be extremely creative and original c. Be complex and utilize a variety of the techniques listed above d. Be interesting and aesthetically pleasing in the round e. Have your name on the bottom Once construction is complete, we will fire and glaze our teapots. EXTRA CREDIT : Create teacups to match your teapot! Grading – This project is worth 100 points. You will be graded on the following criteria: a. Craftsmanship b. Creativity/Originality
