Birding in sal patch (16 November 2013) So we started the Saturday morning birding at 7 am. The birds we saw on way and in sal patch are listed as follows. This patch is just some 3 sq km in chandrabani, Dehradun. With the settlements on its edges this piece of forest patch is a bit cut off from the range of Rajaji national park. Winter season hence during our morning birding (7-9 am) not much birds visible. Still we got a number of them. 1. Grey hornbill 2. Oriental Pied hornbill 3. Jungle myna 4. Pied starling 5. White breasted kingfisher 6. Grey bushchat 7. Black drongo 8. Scaly breasted munia 9. Great tit 10. House sparrow 11. Plum headed parakeet 12. Canary flycatcher 13. Oriental whiteeye 14. Common tailorbird 15. Yellow eyed babbler 16. Black kite 17. Brown capped pygmy woodpecker 18. Lesser flameback 19. White breasted waterhen 20. Indian robin 21. Oriental magpie robin 22. Himalayan bulbul 23. Red vented bulbul 24. Small minivet 25. Eurasian golden oriole 26. Unidentified (2)

So we started the Saturday morning birding at 7 am. The birds we saw on way and in sal patch are listed as follows. This patch is just some 3 sq km in chandrabani, Dehradun. The first unidentified one is it any finch? As for second one I can go for female of either pied or grey bushchat (not sure).
