Task
DESIGN A HEALTHY BREAKAST
Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. The word breakfast means ‘breaking the fast’ – because it’s the first meal you have after fasting (not eating) overnight. Breakfast is important to give you a good energy boost. Carbohydrate foods such as bread and cereal are great for breakfast because they fill you up and release energy slowly throughout the morning whereas sugary foods will release energy quickly and you can feel tired again come break time.
To be successful:1/ You will have to design two different types of a healthy breakfast to give you an energy boost:
- One cold breakfast with a drink - One cooked breakfast with a drink
2/ Keep a food diary of the breakfast you eat each day for a week.3/ Investigate all the different food and drinks that can be served at breakfast time.4/ Research what is eaten traditionally for breakfast in four countries around the world.5/ Make your cold breakfast, explain why it is healthy and either draw it or take a picture.6/ Make your cooked breakfast, explain why it is healthy and either draw it or take a picture.
