C. Shop Drawings: Show layout, elevations, supports and anchorage, conditions at jambs and intersections with permanent walls, hardware, joints, and connections.

D. Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.

E. Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.

F. Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.

G. Closeout Submittals: Provide manufacturer's operating and maintenance instructions that include recommendations for periodic checking and adjustment and periodic cleaning and maintenance of all components.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Firm with minimum 10 years documented experience in manufacturing operable partitions of type specified.

B. Installer Qualifications: An experienced installer certified in writing by the operable partition manufacturer, as qualified to install the manufacturer's partition systems for work similar in material, design, and extent to that indicated for this Project.

C. Field Measurements: Verify actual measurements of openings by field measurement prior to fabrication; show measurements on shop drawings.

D. STC Ratings: Calculate STC in accordance with ASTM E 413 based on ASTM E 90 test on fully assembled partition of minimum size indicated:1. Rigid Panel Partitions: 168 inches (4267 mm) high by 111 inches (2819 mm) wide.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Deliver, handle and store products in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.

B. Store products indoors in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

C. Protect from exposure to harmful weather conditions, at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by manufacturer.

1.7 SEQUENCING

A. Ensure that locating templates and other information required for installation of products of this section are furnished to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

B. Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

1.9 WARRANTY

A. Manufacturers 2 year limited warranty for partition panels and 5 year limited warranty on mechanical components including track and carriers.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 MANUFACTURERS

2.2 INDIVIDUAL PANEL OPERABLE PARTITIONS

A. Top Supported Individual Panel, Excel 700 Series, Model 741:1. Description:

a. Manual Operation. Top supported, moved individually from the storage area, positioned in the opening, and seals set.

b. Telescoping Closure with an expanding jamb member operated from either side of the panel using a removable handle.

c. Hinged Closure Panel permanently attached to the structural wall with recessed hardware and multi-ply vinyl top and bottom seals.

2. Acoustical Performance: As tested at an independent accredited laboratory in accordance with ASTM E 90.a. STC 43.b. STC 48.c. STC 50.d. STC 54.

3. Panels:a. Size: Provide to sizes indicated on the Drawings.

1) Thickness nominal 4 inches (100 mm).2) Widths up to 48 inches (1230 mm).3) Maximum ceiling height 16 feet 4 inches (4.95 m).

b. Panels:1) Panel faces of appropriate acoustical substrate to meet the STC

requirement. Panel faces shall be welded to the internal steel frame. Panel faces shall be formed to protect the panel edges.

2) Panel faces steel backed with acoustical material. Panel faces formed to protect the panel edges and welded to the internal steel frame.

3) Weight of the panels is between 5.5 to 9.2 lbs./sq. ft. (27 to 45 kg/sq.m) based on STC value selected plus or minus 1 lb.

c. Frames fabricated of steel and welded. No vertical face trim shall be allowed.d. Frames fabricated of steel and welded. Vertical astragals shall have integral

protective trims.e. Interlocking Vertical Seals Between Panels: Tongue and groove aluminum and

vinyl reversible astragals creating a shock-absorbing, deep nesting, impact resistant acoustical interlock between panels.

f. Horizontal Top Seals: Continuous contact multi-fingered vinyl sweeps.g. Horizontal Bottom Seals: Seals automatically operate as the panels are

4. Suspension system:a. Track: Tempered aluminum with soffit trim of clear anodized aluminum

providing a transition to the ceiling. Track includes support brackets and hanger rods, spaced to manufacturer's standards.

b. Each panel supported by two dual horizontal wheel trolley assemblies of glass-reinforced, self lubricating nylon with steel precision ground bearings. Carrier design uses a counter rotating concept to move panels along the track and through 90 degree "L", "T",and "X" intersections. Carriers using friction discs are not permitted.

5. Suspension system: For ceiling heights under 16 feet 3 inches onlya. Track shall be heavy gage steel supported by support brackets and hanger

rods, spaced to manufacturer's standards for height and STC specified.b. Each panel shall be supported by two four-wheel trolley assemblies with steel

precision ground bearings. Carrier design shall permit panels to automatically index through stacking switches and curves.

1) Reinforced vinyl wall-covering with woven backing, weighing 20 oz. or more per lineal yard (465 g/m). Color as selected from manufacturer's standard colors.

fastened to the frame.4) Panel faces of gypsum laminated to appropriate substrates to meet the

5) Weight of the panels is between 6 to 9,5 lbs./sq. ft. (29 to 46 kg/sq.m) based on STC value selected plus or minus 1 lb.

Crank type seals requiring more than one rotation of the actuator to set or release or the use of a fixed sweep on any panel are not be acceptable. PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
