Minimal bathroom passes will be given during class. -Classroom calculators are not to leave the classroom without the teacher’s permission. Violation of this will result in the report of a theft. -Homework needs to be completed by the beginning of class. Students are expected to come in outside of class-time to ask questions, as there will be limited time in class for homework. -Due to the inquiry-style of our curriculum, group participation and discussions are highly encouraged. Students must actively participate during lessons, and complete their own work. -Students are expected to show their work on tests, homework, in-class lessons, and quizzes. Not showing work may result in the loss of points. -Cell phones are absolutely not allowed in the classroom. Violation of this rule will result in the phone being taken away. *School policy states that students must make up the work missed for an excused absence. Students will have at least as many excused school days as they were absent, plus one additional day, to complete make-up work. If the make-up work is not completed in the allocated time, a deduction or zero will be given for the assignments. Course Description The focus of Integrated Math 2 is on quadratic expressions, equations, and functions; comparing their characteristics and behavior to those of linear and exponential relationships from Integrated Math 1. The need for extending the set of rational numbers arises and real and complex numbers are introduced so that all quadratic equations can be solved. The link between probability and data is explored through conditional probability and counting methods, including their use in making and evaluating decisions. The study of similarity leads to an understanding of right triangle trigonometry and connects to quadratics through Pythagorean relationships.

-Students are expected to show their work on tests, homework, in-class lessons, and quizzes. Not showing work may result in the loss of points.

-Cell phones are absolutely not allowed in the classroom. Violation of this rule will result in the phone being taken away.

-If a student performs poorly on a test, they will be given the opportunity to correct their test for up to half of the points they missed. Test corrections must be done outside of class time within one week of getting their test back.

Class Schedule: Please note that this schedule is subject to change.

Grading ScaleA = 100% - 93%B = 92% - 85%C = 84% - 77%D = 76% - 70%

F = 69% - 0%

PLEASE NOTE: Tests are worth HALF of your quarter grade. This means that it is very important that you pay attention in class, ask questions, and STUDY!!! Test corrections are allowed and are to be completed outside of class within

one week of receiving your grade.

CALCULATOR REQUIREMENTS-Students will be required to have at least a scientific calculator to use outside of the classroom. Smart phones have the ability to download a scientific calculator for free. I recommend the app DESMOS, as it will be seen on the Smarter Balanced State Test. You can also purchase one for under $15 at local stores. (Please let me know if this is an issue so we can discuss further options)

-There will be a class set of graphing calculators provided in the classroom, however students need their own scientific or graphing calculator to complete homework outside of class.

-College bound students may benefit from purchasing their own graphing calculator. I would recommend the TI-84 Plus C, these run around $100. This calculator is the same as the ones we use in class, and is also allowed on the ACT.

Academic DishonestyCheating/dishonesty will not be tolerated in this class. Students are expected to uphold

high academic moral and integrity. The following list are examples that are in violation of the policy, but are not limited to:

-Copying homework from other students -Talking during quiz/test-Copying homework from class website -Forging parents’ signature-Taking pictures of quizzes/tests -Using cellphone during quiz/test-Using non-approved materials on quiz/test
