Training Philosophy: Carolina Edge believes a couple truths that led to the training model we offer: 1. Your daughter does not need to specialize this young! And that’s across sports, and within a single sport that applies to posions. So we do not want Edge in Training to be their only acvity, they are kids, let them free play! 2. Since we will teach everything to everyone, we have no need for a tryout. The program is all about skill development and not building a team to travel and perform. Side note—they also do not need the stress of a tryout at 12 years old. 3. We do understand the importance of play, aſter all, that is everyone’s favorite part, but at the age of 12, there is no need to travel across the country to play. Therefore, we will introduce your daughter to volleyball system within localized play opportunies that will take the place of Sunday’s pracces. These play dates are TBD, but will be local and not all day. 4. They need to have fun! Training Structure: Leigh Mullins has built a curriculum that will 1) have your daughter connue to fall in love with volleyball and 2) set the foundaon for what they will be asked to do when they get to Megan Garren on the 13s, and then to Jody Brown on the 16s, all the way up to their college coach. They will learn the importance of first contacts and then they will get quality, well- instructed repeons on the serve and pass. They will learn to set, dive, dig, aack, etc.—everything you see the older girls doing, they will do, which means they will experience guided play and be put in situaons to learn, fail, succeed, and ulmately grow.
