Specific guiding principles for implementation of SITA services are:

– Building service delivery credibility through rapid creation of value;

– Building of collaborative partnerships with government departments to ensure success;

– Dual focus in managing SITA, i.e. build new capabilities while maintaining and improving on current service levels and;

– Support the socio-economic policies of Government;

– Promotion of a positive and service delivery image through communication, marketing and public relations.

Services Rendered

• Mandatory Services/Transversal Systems- Printing - Hosting- Persal- Financial Management System

• Wide Area Network- Currently operating on 16 disparate networks - Migrating to Government Core Network (GCCN), which carries data, voice, video conferencing

• Non-Mandatory Services– Hosting of movement control system– Hosting of national population register

• Currently IT spent is R36m from an approximate R310m budget for the above services to SITA
