End of Summer Market
It’s over!
The first project of the club after summer is finally over. It took three weeks of daily hard work for Rita, Sam, Terri and Tracy. They managed to pull the project in just three weeks, finding 48 vendors for 50 tables. Advertising the event on all channels and organizing the volunteer teams.
Rita: Thanks everyone - really appreciate the recognition, but more, I ap-preciate the support of those that found vendors, offered help, de-signed banners and flyers, negotiated deals and contracts, became vendors, promoted and shopped at the event, and so on... I am espe-cially grateful to those who volunteered their time, strength, and smiles in the rain - this was such a team effort.... Linnet and Sam gave so much time to the late night calls and my not-so-silent complaints when things went awry.... and they did so with grace and consistency. In the end, we met our target and had a gorgeous professional event! We are waiting for the feedback on the security deposit, so I can’t share final numbers yet, but I didn’t want to wait to thank everyone who was a part of this project!
Sam: Thanks all volunteers for showing up and helping out. Thanks to those members who showed up. Despite the rain and heat, quite a few vendors told us it was a great market for them. So was a job well done and that we pulled it off in 3 weeks was amazing. Thanks Rita for the leadership and hard work. Now seeing off the vendors and thanking them for supporting us.
Not only were the table fees going to the Library Project, but also some vendors dedicated part of their profits as well. As Rita reminded.
Rita Remember: Superpot is giving 100% of what they make to Library Project. Homeslice is giving 20%. Socialtique is giving 5%. Come out and support the vendors and share the joy of Rotary with them! This is s chance to show rotary in action!

Monday 27th August.
For over a week, RACS had been collecting their favorite photos of their past activities and meetings. On Monday, they printed and ar-ranged the photos in a collage on two page of their Rotaract Album project.
The Album will fly to Japan very soon to collect input from other Rotaract clubs.
This is all part of a bigger project, sending a banner and the book to other Rotaract clubs worldwide in a wonderful global fellowship spirit.

6 The Rotary Pagoda
2018-19 Presidential Theme: Back to Basic By RCS President, Linnet Kwok
I want this year to focus on Rotary's core values, Fellowship and Service.
With fellowship we create good service projects and through service we develop long lasting friendships. They are inter-twined.
The arrows represents fellowship and ser-vice crisscrossing each other. The arrows also form a globe as we are an internation-al organization and an international club.
RCS has over 20 nationalities. To create fellowship we need members, more mem-bers to deliver service projects and more members to grow the club.
To grow the club we need to work on our youth and PR.
Many people don't know us or think we are a group of old middle age Anglo Saxon males! On the contrary, we are very diversified.
