back No artificial nails- no chipped or loud colored

nail polish Minimal make up/ no perfumes No hanging earrings/ or piercings CLEAN tennis shoes Wrist watch

Absences Please contact me by 0615 if you will not be at

clinical that day Send text message to 682-351-0326 I will confirm that I have received your message DO NOT come to clinical if you are sick:

Temp >100 Excessive cough Nausea or vomiting Have pink eye Any draining wounds

PCT

Work side by side with your assigned PCT Never engage in any activity/ procedure

without his or her supervision Remember your AIDET ALL THE TIME!!!! Remember to properly Identify all your patients

Using 2 patient identifiers Always wash hands and pump in and out of

patient rooms

Safety Make sure all beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs

are in the locked position Make sure your bed is in the lowest position

with the proper number of side rails are elevated STOP and visually scan the room for safety

before exiting room Make sure the patient call bell is within reach Rounding will take place every 90 minutes or

as needed Be observate for patients on FALL RISK

Be Certain to: Receive a detailed report about the patient you

will care for: This includes

Diagnosis Diet status Bathing Weight bearing/ ambulation etc. Vital signs Blood sugar frequency-- if needed IV’s Special testing/ procdures, OR, discharge status

TELL THE NURSE Abnormal vital signs – this includes:

BP systolic > 140 or < 90 BP diastolic > 90 or < 60 Pulse rate > 100 or < 60 bpm Respiratory rate > 24 or < 14 bpm Pulse oximetry reading of < 95 % ( make

sure patient has O2 ordered and it is on the patient)

Blood sugar of < 70 or > 115 report all BS > 200 STAT!!!! To the RN

Emergencies

Dial 555 from any patient room or unit phone for all emergency codes

Students Staying at BCTALMod/Tues or Wed/ Thurs

Report to this classroom– 702 and sign in with Mrs. Livingston at 0725!!!

She has a 1st period Med Term class Sit at computer desks & log on to the

atialliedhealth.com and work through PCT tutorials– YOU MUST HAVE ear buds please

2nd period- complete the assignment left Report off to Ms. Allen at 0855– YOU MUST

SIGN OUT!! Dismissal is not before 0855!!!

We will engage in a brief post clinical conference during 1st period Then

resume classroom instruction during 2nd period

% Breakdown

35 points Classroom online modules

You must submit a weekly summary/outline of the modules covered by Friday

35 points Clinical Experience Report on EDMODO

You must post to your team EDMODO group You must read at least 2 of your classmates reports and post a

professional comment/ remark by Friday 30 points

Present both days On time Proper uniform- scrubs, shoes, hair, overall professional

appearance
