DANA CARRABON
EXECUTIVE-PRODUCER - ACTING AS THOMAS DEVLIN
Bio: Dana is hard working cannabis advocate with a B.F.A in
Performance Acting from Ryerson University. His passion for creating
meaningful works of art is actualized through both his business acumen
and his talent as an actor. He believes that cannabis is integral to
unlocking humanity’s full potential. More than a recreational drug, it’s
an ancient sacrament, a multi-use medicine, and a multi-purpose crop
with 50,000 industrial uses. In addition to producing this show, he is
excited to show his acting prowess through his character Thomas
Devlin.

MEHDI SIDALI
PLAYWRIGHT/WRITER
Bio: Mehdi is a compassionate writer, and a graduate from the
University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. He
is willing to enter unchartered waters if it means a meaningful story lies
at the end of that adventure. He is an adaptable, at-ease, and driven
person and these qualities show in his work and when working with him.
Writing works: Short stories including Prize, Icy Princess and Three
Mice (2012-present). TV Sitcom proposal and script for The Holding Cell “Pilot” (2013).
Unpublished novel Tiresias (2013), Reefer Madness (2018)
ANDREA PESTANA
DIRECTOR
Bio; Andrea is a Toronto based performance director and producer
hailing from Newmarket, Ontario. Recently graduated from Ryerson
School of Performance with a focus on producing and directing, she has
also begun to expand her producing portfolio to include live
performance virtual reality, especially dance.
Previous credits include Producer and Director, Virtually
Accessible (2019), Producing Intern, The Musical Stage Company (2019); Director, In Her Golden
Years, InspiraTO (2018); Director and Co-Artistic Director, Spring Awakening, Ghost Light Players

VITAN PRAVTCHEV
PRODUCER
Bio: Vitan Pravtchev is a graduate from the Performance Acting
program at Ryerson University School of Performance. Vitan has been
involved in theatre, dance, and singing since his birth. He has sung in
many choirs including performing in Carnegie Hall and Apollo Theatre
in Greece. Before Ryerson, he completed a musical theatre major at
Etobicoke School of the arts whilst maintaining an academic stronghold. After Ryerson,
This September 2019, Vitan will be doing his Masters of Education at U of T’s OISE. As a self -
identifying LGBT artist and occasional cannabis user, Vitan is excited to be a part of a Fringe
performance that is breaking down the barriers and stigma.
PATRICK LYNN
STAGE MANAGER
Bio: Patrick grew up in Fredericton, NB, but he moved to Toronto in
2017 to pursue an education in the performing arts. He will be entering
his third year at Ryerson University, School of Performance: Production and Design in September specialising in management.

PRODUCTION MANAGER
Bio: Sophia Fabiano is a fourth year production student at Ryerson’s
School of Performance, specializing in technical direction.
Recent works include; Stage Technician, Regeneration (Echo Dance
Collective; Head Electrician, This Is How We Live (Ryerson
University); Head of Flys, Dances 2018 (Ryerson University); Head of
Props, Rhinoceros (Douze Citrons Theatre); Technical Director, Spring

ASLI ÖZÜAK
ASSISTNT STAGE MANAGER
Bio: Aslı is studying the Performance Production program at the
Ryerson University. She is an aspiring theatre human. She was the
stage manager for the 2019 production of Deimos X Phobos,
choreographed by the Near&Far Projects and produced by Alex Flack.
She stage managed FUnoriginal (2017) at the Paprika Festival. Her
Ryerson University works include being the production coordinator of
the New Voices Festival (2019) as well as being the assistant costume designer for Dances (2018).
SARAH BUEHNER
LIGHTING DESIGNER
Bio: Sarah is a graduating 4th year Performance Production student at
the Ryerson School of Performance. She is an industrious, self-
motivated artist who seeks to bring her lighting works to new heights.

DIEGO VARELA
HEAD OF SOUND Bio: Diego is a graudating 4th Year Performance Production student at
the Ryerson School of Performance. He is a personable and driven
creative, who looks forward to working with the Jazz music of the
1930s, which were heavily stigmatized alongside cannabis.

MICHAEL MERRITHEW
SOUND DESIGNER
Bio: Michael would like to thank his family and friends for putting
the pieces of his life together. His Mom actually gave him the
acoustic bass, which he claims allowed him to believe he could
attempt to work alongside the iconic sounds this piece surrounds
itself by. He would also like to thank his family’s company
(Merrithew™) for giving him the opportunity to work with the software responsible for the production of the original pieces.

PROJECTION DESIGNER
Bio: David is a graduate of Ryerson’s Production Program with a
special interest in projection and video design. His organizational and
technical skills have grown substantially in recent years, and
continues to exponentially grow leading into this new rendition of
Reefer Madness: Origins.

ALESSIA URBANI
COSTUME DESIGNER
Bio: Alessia is a current production student at the Ryerson School
of Performance, with a focus in costume and set design. Working in
both theatre and film, Alessia originally began her career in fashion.
As a freelance designer, Alessia creates costumes for the stage and
custom garments for clients. For the future, she hopes to continue her education in scenography.

AS HARRY J. ANSLINGER
Bio: Koldin is a surging young actor, who sharpens his skills in
stage combat, filmography, amongst many other talents and abilities.
He is ecstatic to be reprising the role of the infamous Harry J.
Anslinger, a man who stopped at nothing to eradicate the cannabis plant.

NICOLE MOLLER
AS JANE SMIT
Bio: Nicole is a passionate artist, who moved from Vancouver to continue her theatrical training at Ryerson School of Performance.
Her theatre credits include RSP’s A Mid Summer Night’s Dream (as
Hippolyta), Peer Gynt (as Peer Gynt), The Last Days of Judas
Iscariot (as Mary Magdalene); as well as The Arts Project Company’s The Crucible (as Ann Putnam
and Sarah Good).
Nicole is thrilled to be once again part of mounting Reefer Madness and playing the part of Jane for
her first Fringe production.

Bio: From an early age, David has been involved in performing arts.
Getting his first set of opportunities in film and television, David has
come a long way from playing the cute kid commercials. Honoured
to be a part of Fringe theatre for the first time, David will be playing
the charismatic James “King” Holloway.

JUAN OTERO
AS AGENT NICHOLAS SOTO
Bio: Juan is thrilled to be joining the Reefer Madness: Origins
company. He was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Calgary
when he was ten. Since then he has been performing every chance he
gets. Acting has taken him from the Canadian Badlands, in their
world famous Passion play, to the University of Lethbridge, in their
prestigious theatre performance program, to Toronto now, where he
takes part in performances throughout the city in the Wrestling
Without Wrestling sketch troupe. Juan’s most recently was a part
of Ghostlight Player’s production of Spring Awakening.
BARRY KELLEGHAN
AS AGENT VERN SCHULTZ
Bio: Barry Kelleghan is an Irish actor that just recently moved to
Toronto. He trained at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in
Dublin, after which he went on to perform in original Irish works
such as "Between the Dawns" and classic Shakespeare plays like
"Julius Caesar" in which he played the title role. As well as acting
Barry has a keen interest in music, specifically guitar and
songwriting.
EZERA BEYENE
AS SGT. GARY O’NEILL
Bio: Ezera Beyene started acting after his older brother played
Humpty Dumpty in his elementary school's production of "Humpty Dumpty".
Since his picture went up on the fridge Ezera swore to one day be a better actor than him. Ezera has yet to accomplish this goal.
