RETI is the only established community based provider of generalist advice andinformation on employment and welfare, including family support, that has workedconsistently with the Somali community in the Hounslow area over the past 11years. However, our diverse committee representation and objectives mean that wecan, and do, serve a much wider client base, and are deliberately moving awayfrom being labled as a "refugee" organisation, as more and more of our clients arebecoming citizens or are born in the UK.

Our aims are:To help disadvantaged individuals access jobs and training, to improvetheir economic circumstances and that of their families, and build theirself-esteemProvide good quality welfare information, advice and referrals to those inmost need to help them overcome the barriers that prevent them sharingequitably in mainstream servicesFully support the Government's integration and community cohesionagendaSupport young people and families by encouraging sport and educationand helping them avoid damaging activities such as gang culture, drugabuse and involvement in violent extremism.

Our strategic objectives are:To reduce poverty, low skills and worklessness amongst refugee andother new communities in west LondonTo increase the awareness of employers of the potential, skills andexperience to be found in new communitiesTo increase the skills of new communities through trainingTo disseminate good practice and to improve inter-agency networking sothat information can be better shared and service delivery improvedSupport families and children in deprived estates in Hounslow providewellbeing support

RETI is seeking funding for 12 months project, employ a part time worker, volunteer,Project running costs including Venue hall hireThe aim of the Project is to support immigrant's women in the Hounslow we will

focus on the lone parents, low incomes and unemployed.RETI would like to continue to working with women who are living a deprived

estates such as Ivy Bridge and Covent way, high field and c1aypod estates

The project is completely taken new approach to support immigrant women andentirely consistent with the aim one for the London borough of HounslowCommunity Pride which supporting local communities to participate moreeffectively in local activities and produce practical, social and economicbenefits to the community.

Project employs a parti time women worker who can provide immigrant women(particularly Somali women) the skills to be able to seek work or further training. Italso aims to address some of the social and practical issues preventing thesewomen seeking work. These practical skills and the addition support we offer will

help improve the employment opportunities of these disadvantaged communities andtherefore fits into London borough of Hounslow equality inclusionWhat we will do-Develop life and basic employability skills as a step to furthertraining and employment.

3. Describe in detail how you intend to achieve this and what the Council'sfunding will be used for.

This project will fill the current gap existing activity in Ivybrdige and extended to theother estates. An outreach advice worker will be employed to recruit and mentorparticipants through the period of the project. This person will be qualified in lAG tolevel 2/3 and will be fully trained in diagnostic technique. The process eachparticipant will go through will be:

Detailed individual diagnostic of aspirations, existing transferable skills,vocational and non - vocational training needs (e.g. ESOLI Social Caretraining), childcare, welfare and any other individual needs.Identification of specific courses available within reasonable travel distance,any additional support available (e.g for childcare/ training fees etc) additionalto what is allocated in the project budget for participant costs.Individual Action Plan with SMART objectives

- As appropriate, assistance with applications for courses, job search andapplications, CV's etc will be provided.Referral to work experience schemes where appropriate

These general activities will take place at our Brentford office premises or one orother of the community premises we use - the Ivy Bridge Link and Convent WayForward Centre.

Participants will be referred to appropriate local training providers (such as the AdultCollege, West Thames College who use their own and community premises boroughwide) for relevant training on existing adult provision.If sufficient numbers (say groups of 6 or more) are identified with similar needs (e.g.

for motivational training / work related ESOL) then intensive customised courses willbe set up. On the whole we expect course fees to be covered or heavily subsidisedby the colleges, although top-ups will be available for participants from project fundsif needed. Providers will be required to guarantee that all course tutors will bequalified in their subject areas and with appropriate generic qualifications such as C& G 7300/ 9375

Support offered to participants (partially or wholly met from the project budget) willinclude:

Generic Advice and GuidanceReferrals to specialist agencies e.g. JCP, Colleges, Money Advice, Job-brokers etcTravel costs to courses/interviews etcSmall refreshments & subsisdence costs if course sessions + travel more than3 hoursChildcare support if requiredIndividual mentoring sessions on a monthly basis

• Empowerment and to encourage refugee women to integrate into the widerBritish society, rebuild their lives and restore their self-confidence.

• End of the project will support 400 women in basic skills training and skills forLife and employment advice support

• End of the project will have a clear understanding of their rights with respectto employment, welfare and training.

Many community groups are aware the RETI outreach however we have good planto engaged those who are not aware the project. However the outreach worker willtargeting the existing community centres and also will be networking the wideragencies, project will be advertised through: Word of mouth I outreach, postersplaced in Hospitals, community centres, Doctor's surgeries etc. Press releases tolocal networks such as CVS Hounslow and articles in Council magazine andVoluntary Times, Participation in local community events.

We will be requesting further funding from city parochial foundation for three yearsprogramme and wellbeing for the based women in 2011.

Asha has 7 years of experience delivering advice and information, communitysupport, she speak several immigrant language including Somali, Arabic andfluent English. Asha has recently gained NVQ2 and 3 for Advice and guidance

She also well known at estates which currently provide generic advice.
