We represent local authorities, government departments and administrative bodies, as well as other clients who have issues of dispute with similar entities.We deal with interpretation and enforcement of bylaws, town planning legislation and related legislation; training and workshops on SPLUMA compliance; Interpretation and drafting of various statutes, ordinances, bylaws and regulations and the Judicial review of various administrative decisions. The recovery of property rates for municipalities; Valuation and administrative appeals as well as representation at tribunals.

Ÿ Estate Planning and Deceased Estates Administration

This department is focused on the administration of deceased estates, estate planning, drafting of wills and trusts. Our Conveyancing Department attends to transfers from deceased estates to beneficiaries.

Ÿ Litigation, Divorce and Family Law

The firm covers a broad range of legal disputes and represents both corporate and individual clients. We appear regularly in both the high court and magistrates court and before tribunals.

We deal with arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution; building and construction disputes; commercial and contractual law disputes; Land claims, property and will disputes as well as matrimonial, custody and family matters.

Mr Mashiyane completed his L.L.B Degree at the University of Zululand and has over 4 years' experience in the legal profession. Mr Mashiyane will be admitted as an Attorney on 13 August 2018.

He has experience in Civil and Criminal Litigation, Administration of Deceased Estates, Commercial law and Mediation.

Sakhile enjoys attending court and solving legal disputes. He has an interest in Commercial Litigation and intends to grow within the firm in that area of law

is an Office Assistant; she is responsible for the serving of documents, posting outgoing mail, arranging travel and keeping records thereof, she is also our driver and messenger.

Nonhlanhla has taken an interest in the Administration of Deceased Estates and intends to grow her knowledge in this area. She currently attends short causes in office administration as well as in the administration of deceased estates.

is an Admin Clerk and Receptionist, she ensures that our front office runs smoothly, she is responsible for receiving and greeting clients, filing, drafting of letters and emails, answering the telephone, transcribing notes, scheduling meetings and appointments as well as maintaining records.

Silindile has attended training for registration of transfers and office administration, she intends to be fully involved in the Conveyancing section of the firm and will embark on her conveyancing paralegal studies shortly.

Nomfuneko Mkhize is an Admitted Attorney with 15 years practice in the legal profession. She has a great deal of experience in Town Planning, Local Government and Administrative Law.She is currently appointed as a member of UMsunduzi Municipal Planning Tribunal; Uthungulu South Joint Municipal Planning Tribunal and the Ray Nkonyeni Joint Municipal Planning Tribunal. She is responsible for providing the Tribunals with expertise in Town

Planning, Public Law and Property Law as well as to ensure that all decisions are legally sound.

She gained invaluable experience while in the service of the legal department of eThekwini Municipality as a Senior Legal Advisor where she was entrusted with providing specialised legal support to the Development Planning and Environmental Unit, in respect of Environmental and Property related Legislation.

Her experience includes pioneering and providing specialised legal support and guidance to I- Trump (the inner-city eThekwini re-generation and urban management programme), an extensive project relating to Urban Regeneration Program. Nomfuneko has advised on matters involving land sales and acquisitions, servitude registrations and management of servitude agreements.

She also dealt with complex legal issues involving the Ingonyama Trust Board and managed litigation matters as well as large conveyancing projects on behalf of eThekwini Municipality which included the registration of Certificates of Registered Title and Certificates of Consolidated Titles. She has dealt with complex Development Planning Applications and Appeals on behalf of eThekwini Municipality and has experience in Procurement Management Processes and Legislation as well as drafting of Commercial Contracts.

During her tenure with eThekwini Municipality, Nomfuneko was involved in the following land- marking projects:

Ÿ Renovation of the Inner-City and Urban Rejuvenation Project;Ÿ River Horse Valley Business Estate Contracts;Ÿ Dube Trade Port Rezoning Applications;Ÿ King Shaka Airport Public Participation Programme;Ÿ Bridge City Development; andŸ Cornubia Integrated Human Settlement Project.Ÿ

Nomfuneko is currently studying towards a Post-Graduate Diploma in Risk Management through the University of South Africa which has increased her scope of expertise to include Governance, Risk and Compliance Management.

Lulama Miya is an admitted Attorney, Conveyancer and Notary Public with over 12 years' experience in the legal profession. She served her articles at Venn Nemeth & Hart Attorneys where she gained experienced in commercial law, public law, litigation and conveyancing. She went on to sit as an Assessor in a criminal trial at the Western Cape High Court with Judge President John Hlophe.

Lulama is currently heading our Conveyancing, Property and Notarial Services Department, she has extensive experience in dealing with property transfers, sale of land, registration of bonds, servitudes and notarial contracts. She also has experience in drafting commercial contracts and local government legislation.

Lulama is appointed as the Deputy Chairperson of the KZN PDA Appeals Tribunal, which adjudicates development planning appeals in terms of the KZN Planning and Development Act. Lulama is also a member of the Uthungulu South Joint Municipal Planning Tribunal and the Umuziwabantu Municipal Planning Tribunal.

She was Co-Project Manager of the Rationalisation of By-laws Project which involved the drafting of 28 By-laws for the eThekwini Municipality, 9 of which were adopted by Council within a twelve- month period.

She formed part of the Project Management and By-law Drafting Team involved in the Implementation of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 which involved the drafting of a new Spatial Planning and Land Use Management By-law as well as ensuring that the Municipality complies and aligns its processes and procedures with the new Act.Lulama has obtained certificates in Legislative Drafting, Project Management Foundations, Policy Writing & Implementation as well as Drafting, Negotiating and Managing of Commercial Contracts. She specialises in Legislative Drafting, Compliance, Conveyancing and Property law.
